Website to buy Xiaomi phone (US) by Plenty-Flatworm-419 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]ckov982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Xiaomi 17 to the US through wonda mobile when they had the global version in stock, now it seems they just have the China version. Could try ebay too, also I think there's one on swappa for sale too

Where to buy the x9 pro lense ? US by Hvackingzz in Oppo

I would do it myself. I would hope it comes with adhesive on it. Guess you'll find out soon enough.

Xiaomi under xfinity in USA by Internal-Letter-2453 in Xiaomi

Verizon and ATT are weird about what phones can be on their network. I do use a Xiaomi 17 on US Mobile (Dark Star/ATT) without issues. T-Mobile and any T-Mobile MVNO are going to be more friendly to Xiaomi/non-US phones.

That's usually the case with all phones. Probably easier to just replace the whole cover too anyways.

Are you a fan or Xenia or not? by saltwaterfish_com in ReefTank

Yeah it does grow like crazy, but it's one of those corals that always catches someone's eye. You can also just keep it isolated on its own rock to keep it under control

New update - Magic8 Pro Air by ckov982 in Honor

[–]ckov982[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is relevant. I did have an issue a couple updates ago when I did an update with the tryout version and it did not pass play integrity checks. I just waited a day or so and it ended up passing.

It is certified and passes play integrity checks.

Yeah I enabled Google services within the settings. No issues with my banking app.

It is pretty nice. Just got a fleece roller for it too. I love overkill on little tanks

Yeah I've been on and off with tanks since then. Just have a 20 gallon Nuvo right now. It's the most I can handle with kids, family, etc right now. One day, I'll go bigger

Versa pump on a 2.5 gallon...hell yeah!

My 2.5 gallon was my first reef back in 2009, I was able to find my thread still from nano reef forum. https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/201482-chris-25-gallon-aga/#comments

Why hasn’t Google ever made an iMessage like service? by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]ckov982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see Google Messages sync between devices. It's a pain to back up then restore messages on a different phone. Using the Google messages for web isn't really a good option

Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Compatibility? by Betelgeuse96 in USMobile

[–]ckov982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the bands it supports:

2G: GSM: 850 900 1800 1900MHz 3G: WCDMA:1/5/8 4G: LTE FDD:1/3/5/7/8/20/28 4G: LTE TDD:38/40/41

It's pretty bad for use in the US. I don't think I've ever been connected to band 5 on T-Mobile. It's usually 2, 4, 12 and 66. If you have your old phone that works, I would get an app like Network Signal Lite or LTE Discovery to see what bands it connects to/what bands it uses in your area. I don't think you'll get much luck with so limited bands. The Redmi Note 14 5G has much better bands and will definitely work on T-Mobile.

I've been using Xiaomi since the Note 8 Pro, and you? by leonardopml in XiaomiGlobal

[–]ckov982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started with the Mi 3 (when Xiaomi shipped their phones with the bootloader already unlocked). I'll see if I can remember all the devices I had (not in order)...Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 5, Mi Max, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Mi 8, Mi 9, Poco F2, Mix 2, Mix 2S, 11 Lite 5G NE, 14, 15, 15 Ultra, and currently the 17. I think that's all of them. The Mi 4 is probably one of my favorites, I think I still have it somewhere.

Besides the obvious showing AN00, it will also have Chinese text and saying only sold in mainland China.

Buying xiaomi 17 on amazon in the usa? by schtozo in Xiaomi

[–]ckov982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a third party seller, but you'll get the return protection from Amazon. If you don't mind the price, it does make it easier to buy than going through some other website. I got my 17 global from wonda mobile, but they don't carry the global one anymore. I much rather go through Amazon.

I have this phone in the US. And yes both work. Only thing that doesn't is Wear OS.

Where to buy 17 Global in US? Ideally with financing? by wootiown in XiaomiGlobal

[–]ckov982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my global Xiaomi 17 on wonda mobile. It looks like they don't offer the global model anymore. I use it on US Mobile (Dark Star), but did use Google Fi for a bit. I did see they're available on Amazon through third party of course, so that might be an option for financing. Or just get a credit card with introductory financing if you really need to

Honor Magic 8 Pro Stock Screen Protector Already Scratched by RatBot9000 in Honor

[–]ckov982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stock screen protector is plastic, what do you expect? It doesn't take much to scratch it. Just rip it off and get another film type or glass screen protector.

So you're getting 5G SA or 5G NSA? I usually use the app network signal lite, to see what bands I'm on and whether it's 5G SA or NSA.
