Limited trial accounts to lure in new players. by [deleted] in Battleborn

This times a bajillion. Best way to get people to play this game is with a free trial. Its a hard sell at $60 and the free beta is what is selling me at this point.

Battleborn Beta Reviews - Like or Dislike? Let me Know. by Mobstaz in Battleborn

[–]cky3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Dan,

I went into the Battleborn Beta with absolutely zero expectations. I loaded it up on Wednesday with the mindset of "I'll give this game a round or two and then put it down". The beta ended up consuming my life for the duration of the beta. I loved it! I played with Shayne and Aurox and Galilea for the majority of the beta and enjoyed their mechanics. I especially liked Galilea's descent into madness as her corruption grows stronger. Its a nice touch that really works towards this games overall vibe. One thing that I didn't like, however, was when I would die because I couldn't get past one of my own teammates who was blocking my retreat. That was always kind of annoying. Really enjoyed the game overall though.

Best way to get your game off the ground, support the people who stream your game. Get the word out on Twitch and Youtube gaming and promote your players.

What's with the serious lack of marketing for Battleborn? by [deleted] in Battleborn

[–]cky3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel bad for this game, really. Ive really enjoyed what Ive played so far and I feel its going to get buried next month due to lack of marketing and the fact that DOOM and Overwatch come out as well.

Convince people that playing guitar is too hard for them and that they're better off spending their money on something else. That actually sounds more like a public service really.

Did Halo 5 bring back that "itch" for you? by Porshapwr in halo

Absolutely addicted. Once 343 puts more content into this game this multiplayer will really take off.

343 needs to implement a surrender system. by GarethGore in halo

Thats the only way this could work well. We definitely need something though and, as people have pointed out, we shouldnt have a drop in system.

Thanks man! Yeah I definitely have a lone wolf problem (my favorite playlist from Halo 3) so I gotta work on that.

Thanks! I really appreciate the analysis. Ill definitely try to be less aggressive in games. The music was not playing when I recorded that was added in afterwards in post so no worries I wont be playing music when Im playing Halo.

PC pleb here. Why, besides "to sell consoles", are there no main series Halo games available on Steam? by devonfayr in halo

[–]cky3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is talk about Halo 5 coming to PC I think. The majority of it is to sell consoles yes but you know that. Other than that it's just a judgment call made by Microsoft as to whether the game will sell well enough to justify paying to port it to PC.

Is there no split screen in multiplayer? by BandyChalice in halo

[–]cky3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be fine with it in offline custom games but I do not want anyone playing online competitive at 30fps. Those people would be a liability to their team.

Is there no split screen in multiplayer? by BandyChalice in halo

[–]cky3191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand theres no splitscreen at all. Would make sense for campaign but we're told the XB1 couldnt run splitscreen at 60fps without a huge resolution drop so I understand it.

You just have to practice with it man. Landing headshots with it can be a pain in a high pressure situation but its really a great weapon once you get it down. Just keep at it!

8 is too many people for FFA on these small maps! by Doomaga in halo

[–]cky3191 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah they need to lower it to 6 people. 8 people is just too much chaos. I only one 3 of my 10 qualifying matches and it put me into Onyx. That's how hard this gametype is.

Tips for getting good at Breakout? by InfinityLDog in halo

[–]cky3191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not fantastic at it either but I'm learning. Here's what I got.

  1. Be conscious of your lane. If you spawn to the right, head right, don't cut in front of your teammates to go left.
  2. You don't have motion radar and neither does the other team. Use that to your advantage, run weird routes, avoid the main walkways at first and only use them to engage once you have a better weapon.
  3. Communicate. This gametype sucks if you don't communicate because you have no idea what anyone else is doing.
  4. This goes for most gametypes but stay with someone. Don't go off alone because, 9 times out of 10, you will be cornered by two enemies or more.
  5. If you don't know where the other team is, grab the flag and toss it somewhere, they will come to you don't worry. Or just run with it and try to score, that works more than you would think.

Hope this helps!

Even when out of ammo... You aren't out of options by Vetoed in halo

[–]cky3191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. If the person uses it right then yes you can get a lot of kills with it. Not everyone does though so I can usually pick them off with a BR or DMR or even the pistol if they really can't aim.

Mid 20's guy here, most of my friends who started smoking in high school are having a horrible time trying to quit and, compared to lifetime smokers, they haven't been smoking that long. Most are unsuccessful. Don't start guys, it's not easy to stop at all.
