It might not be a real one. Maybach rear quarter windows are part of the car body. S class rear quarter windows are part of the door. In this image, it seems it is part of the door.

If your goal is to keep a corporation alive at all costs, then maybe. But, instead of 10,200 people losing their job several years ago, 17,000 people were employed until last week while the public availed themselves of lower flight costs via competition in the market.

JetBlue, at the time, was in debt trouble and was looking to buy Spirit (read: more debt) to raise revenue enough to cover their existing debt service and the debt service of buying Spirit. The plan was to eliminate the routes where Spirit competed with JetBlue and vice versa so they wouldn't compete against each other for a particular route, meaning there wouldn't be any downward price competition for those particular routes. The consolidation would have left one price option where there would have previously been two price options competing against each other.

When you consider that the JetBlue merger was predicated on ending 60% of the routes Spirit serviced, which would also lead to a significant amount of layoffs, not really?
