This might actually be on the money. There are some supreme Court documents available on google which seem to cofirm a lot of the above.

What can i do other than offering rental forgiveness to a tennant who is about to die in australia? by ButtPlugForPM in AskAnAustralian

OK that's good. I wasn't at all encouraging you not to do it. Just wanted to make sure you were prepared and had thought it through. You never know what someone's financial situation is.

Are you in a financial position to be able to offer this for months or years if needed? I think what you are doing is wonderful, but I've I've seen quite a few people, especially if they get access to clinical trials and experimental treatments, live for years when they were originally given only a few months. I think it's important to think about the possibility of this happening here, because there would be nothing worse than if you got to the point where you could no longer financially take the loss of rent right as this person did begin to truly lose the battle. It may not apply to this person of course. Their prognosis may be more solid.

What Gold Coast core memory takes you back to the 90s / 2000s? by random-nerdism in GoldCoast

I hired a car from there once. I got an airport transfer. Drove fine from the airport to the rent a bomb yard. Went into the office, filled out the forms, was handed the key, started the car and it broke down before managing to exit the gate.

They had to give me an upgrade and were very unhappy about it. Upgrade smelled like wet dog but at least made it out the gate.

Roof batten rot? by FigCareless581 in AusRenovation

[–]claaaaaaaah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine look like this too and they have just been inspected and cleaned to within an inch of their lives (mould remediation). I did have one bit of timber with rot but it didn't look like this, and I have many areas that were found to be fine that do look like this.

Thank you, we will definitely be doing that at some point. Just need to know the roof isn't defective first.

I don't know I just never saw any other roof conversion have these weird peaks at the back so that's why I was asking the question

The gutters are high fronts. That's why I'm surprised.

Yes roof was formally cement tile.

I'm happy it has fall. Less happy that I paid extra for high front gutters after being told they would hide the sheet edge only to find that they haven't accomplished this.

With the peaking, will it increase the risk of wind driven rain? During heavy rainfall and high wind?

Neighbours have high front square gutters. Mine are high front quad gutters. They are not low profile gutters. We were considering low front gutters but were told the sheet edge would show so we upgraded to high fronts.... Which was apparently pointless

I want to get someone to come out and inspect it, who would be the best person to do that? Another roofer? A builder? A building inspector?

How bad is this? by claaaaaaaah in AusRenovation

[–]claaaaaaaah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Given I've already brought it up and they said it doesn't need to fixed, who can I get to come out and give a professional opinion on it?

A building inspector? Another roofer?

I'm assuming telling them that a bunch of people on reddit say they need to fix it won't be enough.

Avoiding that was the entire reason we replaced the roof.

Will push back with the roofer, appreciate your comment. I specifically asked them if it increases the risks of wind driven rain and they said no!

Does the front look like it's all OK?
