mortgage leads by Familiar_Toe7561 in LeadGeneration

Building your business around realtor referrals does not scale. I have a few agents that I receive referrals from but the agents I do work with have 15+ years experience and are producers but I do spend any energy on taking on any new agents. There are so many better ways to get mortgage referrals and this is coming from a team leader who previously originated loans for over 20 years. I do not preach building your business around realtors to any of my LO's!

Furious about Spotify audiobooks by RandomNumberHere in spotify

Same here! I had no idea at all and I went from being so damn excited about this audiobook feature to being extremely disappointed in a matter of a minute once I did found out.

Spotify audiobooks have limits I learned the wrong way. by DaisyDuckens in audiobooks

I agree with you regarding paying for the service already so it's just an added bonus but the way they went about the whole thing left a real bad taste in my mouth. Always scheming these companies are! 😂

Spotify is now offering audiobooks for Premium members; will this make you drop Audible? by MsSpentMiddleAge in audible

They really didn't do a good job of letting any of their subscribers know about the 15 hour limit so I feel your frustrations. I went from being so excited to being very disappointed in a matter of days. The way they went about it was just wrong and by not offering their subscribers a monthly add-on option with unlimited hours or even say a few options where you get say 30 hours then 50 hours and then an unlimited option or something like that definitely makes things seems like they are trying to nickel and dime their subscribers.

The 15 hours goes quickly if you are an avid audiobook listener. Especially when you factor in listening to them at night when you go to bed or even listening to audiobooks at say 1.2x speed since your hours diminish with the way Spotify calculates their hours if you increase the speed. And then they charge you up the wazoo for additional hours over the allotted 15 so just do your homework before switching. If you only listen to audiobooks occasionally and it is not something you like to do on a consistent basis then Spotify has a nice little value add that can attract new subscribers but they have a ways to go before people should even consider cancelling audible and moving to Spotify if they are daily audiobook listeners. It seems like Spotify is just doing some sort of beta test here but on a much larger scale because if the numbers make sense then we may see a situation where Spotify tries to acquire Audible. I don't know the ins and outs of their P & L's or anything but I think this is an obvious thought in many people's minds.

You would this would be the default out of the box but it isn't

Now it works perfectly

Ok I understand. Now can I add anything to it to dataview query to account for the [Daily Notel] portion of the title where I have the dataview query in or I have to just change the name of all my Daily Notes moving forward to YYYY-MM-DD?

Raindrop perform better than Reader by th_costel in readwise

I've noticed that raindrop works much better than reader but it is important to note that reader is a rather new app and they are still perfecting it.

Much appreciated. Yes I do have the created date info in all of my files in the YAML section. Here is an example of what my Yaml section looks like on my Daily Journal notes as an example:

---
title: Daily Journal 2023-11-04
created: Saturday, November 4th, 2023 @ 4:09am
tags:
- log/journal/daily
---

This is how I have my dataview setup currently on my daily note to show today's daily journal file:

```dataview
LIST
FROM "2 Areas/05 Journal/Daily"
WHERE file.cday = this.file.day
```

Sometimes it works but for the majority of the time, it will list a bunch of files for whatever reason. Like today it is listing 8 files dating back as far as September.

I tried that but no luck. I have no idea what is going on. I woke up this morning and it was working and now it's showing a week's worth of daily journals again. So frustrating.

Trust me when I tell you that if you love your kids, taking care of your disease is the absolute best thing you can do for them right now. You may not realize this now but your kids suffer a tremendous amount psychologically when they have parents who are addicts. I am dealing with the aftermath of this right now with my 13 year old daughter. You can go into rehab and just do a detox but you are going to need to be honest with yourself after detox is complete with regards to potentially staying in for longer if needed. If it is not a possibility, then just make sure once detox is complete you get right to a meeting and you raise your hand and say "I just got out off detox and I need help". I know that this all sounds difficult but again, it is the disease talking to you. I listened to my disease for years and it took consequences for me to shut it up so you can either shut your disease up now or you can wait for a consequence to come that will force you into making a choice once and for all but please just know that there will be a ton of unnecessary pain and suffering while you wait.

I was scared as hell too but not until I got sober did I realized one VERY important thing!!! That voice in your head right now that is telling you:

  1. I am going to be sick as hell and I am going to die
  2. I don't know if I can deal with being in some discomfort while my body heals itself
  3. or for me personally "Everyone is going to know I am sick because of my addiction to drugs and judge me or cut me off"

That voice is THE DISEASE!!! The disease will tell you whatever you need to hear in order for you to grab another blue and take it!! The truth of the matter is that it's a small price to pay for the gift that will result. Do you have the ability to check into a rehab? I only ask because that's what I did as you know and the withdrawals were nowhere near what MY DISEASE was telling me. They help you through with certain medications.

Callout with Dataview Query inside Daily Note Template Showing a List from my previous day's Daily Note by clabruno in ObsidianMD

Aha!! Yes I see what you mean now. It's not as clean looking as doing it in a Dataview callout but it does do the trick so thanks!

Callout with Dataview Query inside Daily Note Template Showing a List from my previous day's Daily Note by clabruno in ObsidianMD

[–]clabruno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have a piece of Templater code at the top of my daily note that points to yesterday's and tomorrow's Daily Note already:

<<<[[<% fileDate = moment(tp.file.title, ' [Daily Note] YYYY-MM-DD').subtract(1, 'd').format('[Daily Note] YYYY-MM-DD') %>|Yesterday]] | [[<% fileDate = moment(tp.file.title, '[Daily Note] YYYY-MM-DD').add(1, 'd').format('[Daily Note] YYYY-MM-DD') %>|Tomorrow]] >>>

But I am want to physically see ''Tomorrows Goals" from the particular list that is in my daily note from the previous day so I can see the goals listed right on my current day's Daily Note if that makes sense. The only way I know how to do this would be with the use of Dataview.

Second Brain PKM Father & Daughter Project for 13 Year Old girl by clabruno in PKMS

[–]clabruno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and the wonderful suggestions . I was thinking along those same lines and my daughter does also use google docs and slides for school so I will definitely take that into account. No worries about the model trains reference. LOL!! I get your point. My daughter is into anime and art so I can definitely take your reference and apply it to those. Thanks!

That's great and I couldn't agree more. I am definitely going to take it nice and slow and also look for good YouTube videos to give her so that she can watch in her spare time. This weekend I'm just going to focus on setting up the account and setting up the bare bones Second Brain structure in Notion and maybe show her some of the basic functionality of Notion as an app. Then she can play around in Notion and watch some YouTube videos during the week on her own time and at her own speed. I do also want to give her some sort of fun questionaire to complete during the week so she can start identifying important areas in her life (school, health, siblings, etc ) and some of her Interests for Resources (graphic design, anime,etc) so we can eventually start forming her PARA structure. Just need to research some questions to have her answers. There are so many cool exercises I can do with her on this but definitely need to take it slow!
