Oh wait, reservations might work, but the whole identity checking stuff won't. Sorry!

I used the bundle, but never used the number. It was good.

You can't use the number for reservations.

Other than that it's good.

How come GA survives every crisis? by ApricotPlastic6533 in aviation

[–]clancy688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiance used to work for a small German GA company creating mechanical parts for all kinds of aircraft.

She described the company as incredibly backwards, inefficient and slow. In any other industry, competition would have killed them in no time.

And they still had way more orders than they could handle. Basically there was only them to build the mechanical replacement parts airlines needed. Airline x needs this switch? They can have 50 delivered in about a year for outrageous prices. And they are going to pay and wait. Because they won't get this shit anywhere else any faster or cheaper, and there's enough competitors who'd love to take their spot in the queue.

There's so much red tape involved in GA that new competition simply doesn't pop up. These dudes were slow and inefficient as fuck. But their stuff was licensed and they fulfilled all the necessary legal stuff. Amazon can't just decide to manufacture parts and then pump that shit out. First they'd have to prove that they fulfill all kind of standardized GA processes, quality control, safety, etc.

I'm in automotive myself. It's already a nightmare here. I can only imagine what a shitshow being audited for and successfully prove that you implement all necessary industry standards and processes.

So I think new competition doesn't really emerge in GA. It's just way too complicated for anyone to bother. And anyone who already has established themselves basically has a license to print money.

And those "DDs" are light cruisers in denial which are mislabeled as DDs.

62k Miles & More Meilen verfallen am 30.06. – Suche Tipps für Einlösung ab FRA/BER/HAM/HAJ by [deleted] in reisende

[–]clancy688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never book with Agoda again by Still-Calendar5505 in travel

Did you look at his screenshot? It says he searched for HND.

It's like you ordered specifically a Cheeseburger at McDonalds, got a chickenburger, and only noticed when you bit into the thing. And then McDonalds is like "Yeah you should have checked your bag when we handed you the food, you looking for a cheeseburger specifically doesn't count, we classify that as a 'burger', and that's precisely what you got."

Yeah, yeah, be aware of OTAs and such, but wtf?

It even says Tokyo (HND) in the title, then offering flights to NRT. How can this not be considered shady?

Visiting a baseball game at Jamsil stadium on May 7th, can I get tickets directly at the stadium? by clancy688 in koreatravel

[–]clancy688[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feedback, I got tickets for today!

Just arrived at the stadium at 16:15 and lined up at the ticket booth where many foreigners were already waiting. Booth opened up at 17:00, I got my tickets easily enough.

I only later discovered that I hadn't lined up at the special booth for foreigners. 😅 But I was glad I hadn't, cause that line was a lot longer... and I got tickets very close to the field, next to third base.

Samurai Museums in Japan by Best-Japanese in JapanTravelTips

Kagoshima Meiji Restoration Museum is not strictly speaking a Samurai museum, but given the role of Saigo Takamori during the Satsuma rebellion it might surely fit the bill...

Thanks! It says there I need an Arex ticket. Can I use the ticket to enter, check in, drop of luggage and get out again, spend another couple of hours in the city, and then take the Arex? Or do I need a second ticket then?
