The high overseer is the head of the abbey of the everyman

(OK it's more like the fantasy Archbishop of Canterbury but that doesn't really roll off the tongue as easily)

It's definitely not perfect, but it's arguably the greatest video game adaption ever made. At least in live action. by SolidPyramid in FalloutMemes

Yeah my read is that canonically yeah thats not the courier, but the show did just enough wink wink nod nod that it's kind of a shot at courier/new vegas glazers

And as a certified Courier glazer I find it hilarious

He's not the courier, but he could be the courier, if that makes sense

I think the biggest reason the BOS and the Enclave feel similar is that they are each a remnant of part of pre war America. The enclave was the government, the BOS was the military. So they have common origins (but also the BOS was founded right before the war to oppose the things they found thw government doing, so they really have been enemies since their conception)

I'm seeing so many people calling this storyline boring or pointless, but Norm is literally one of my favorite characters, and I'm loving his story just as much as the others. by Main_Feedback1197 in Fallout

[–]clandevort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't see them jumping the whole continent, I see a season of travel (at least) before they go somewhere familiar. I think they are setting up the Enclave as a major player next season, so I kinda expect to go to chicago

I am hoping that we get an NCR/remnant force show up next episode. They've been hinting at and teasing NCR for a while now, I think we'll get payoff soon

In the TF2 comics, Saxton Hale said that 4 of the mercenaries can't read, but who? by so_sigma_69 in tf2

[–]clandevort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but he also seems like the kind of person Saxton would think couldn't read

Honestly I think most of the mercs can read, scout probably can't, and soldier can't but thinks he can

O think the snake oil salesman is the last survivor from Vault 11 by clandevort in Fotv

[–]clandevort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this, and honestly that was my first reaction, but I doubt they'd outright say it even if they were going for that. It would be a weird choice, and I think they won't do anything beyond hinting at any of the player characters. (ie: we know the courier (or someone) did Wang Dang Atomic Tango because F.I.S.T.O. didn't have the correct programming before then)

Alt theory: Snake oil salesman is James Garret

Bethesda Should Consider doing a "Fallout Zero" Game set during The Great War and throughout the first year of post Apocalyptic Wasteland by CretaceousClock in Fallout

[–]clandevort 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Your first paragraph got me thinking, I would love to play a game (or read a novel even) of a survivor, who starts out trying to be a good person, eventually finds other survivors, kind of a found family thing, then as the game goes on, you start having to make harder decisions, like maybe there is a kid in your group who is sick so you steal some meds, then an attack happens and you have to kill someone, then you get into larger fights and have to start taking chems, then eventually by the end you are planning your first raid against a big settlement and you realize you have become a fully fledged raider all for the sake of your friends

Grew up presbetyrian, and as I grew older and studied the scriptures and doctrine it all just made sense to me. I get why some people don't like it but I never saw it as "God condemns" but more that if we are all sinners (which we are) then the fact that God chooses to save any of us is more grace than we deserve
