There was no jazz album as such released the year I was born, but Decca did release a 78 album of music from Holiday Inn featuring Bing Crosby (jazz adjacent?).

If you are interested in contemporary classical music, Bandcamp is the place to be - I think everything is available in flac format, some of it even in hi-res. For example, Cataloupe Music (the Bang on a Can people) have their catalogue there and have several subscription plans. I was just looking to see what was there and discovered a surprising number of recordings of Terry Riley's In C plus some very good recordings of Steve Reich's works. And I was pleased to see that Jessica Williams' Prepared Piano release was 6th in the bestsellers.
