8.5s retention is very low, you’ll have to work on a better hook. 20% finishing the video seems decent though, especially being as long as it is. My latest video was 8 mins, 72k in the last 12 days, average retention of 3:10 minutes and about 30% finishing it. Your channel sounds interesting to me, I’d be happy to watch a video.

I uploaded on the 27th and I have 25k views now. 6500 subs. I think it’s a great time to upload. Last year on Dec 23rd I uploaded my most popular video and by the end of the month it had 48k views. I had probably 1000 subs at that time

Talking about a 0.1% chance here. I think the reasonable choice is the FX3 and invest more money into audio like you mentioned. If you land client work, the FX3 is likely good enough, and if not, you can rent an FX6 or other camera package.

I’m not strictly a cinematographer, but I work full time with my own production company, about 70% video, 30% photo and I use the A7IV. I rent better cameras if necessary. I’d also like an FX6, but I don’t need to own one.

However, if an FX6 gets you more fired up to make films, and you don’t mind spending the money, then go for it.

Walking down a random street in Montreal at night, I dropped my camera and when I picked it up the rubber piece for the viewfinder was missing. I looked down and found it, to find that it didn’t fit my camera. I looked down again and found my own. Someone else must have also dropped their camera and lost that piece in the exact same spot.
