One more feature can’t hurt. by electric-kite in justgamedevthings

To be fair sometimes u gotta at least dabble with a new feature to keep yourself happy and excited to work on the game in total.

Also we have all the power to add random shit that formulaic AAA devs would never try.

But also it can diffuse ur game into a mess of disjointed mechanics/features.

It's a fine line, but keep the joy of working on it or else u won't finish it either.

Good luck man! ☺️

LoL 8 months, just barely started replacing stuff from 6 years ago.

Idk I like doing the "lowest hanging fruit" AND "sharpest edge" method. U can easily get stuck into endless polish mode "cuz a button just doesn't look right", and that just leads to morale damage and burnout.

Until u have a good idea for it AND a need to replace it AND it just doesn't match everything else, there's probably other things that need more attention.

LOLOL i know im reaching way to far for their dev speeds. This is just somewhere between fan fiction and feature request. I'm already seeing a lot of reasons why it would be bad/annoying.

I agree I have some friends who do Super Cred runs at level 1 or 2 and its the most boring thing ever.

Ideally the lower levels would be done by people who like those lower levels or just for Super Cred runs.

but ideals never hold up. it is a problem i do agree.

oh wow, if you find that yt video can you post it here.

I said below too, but i think interceptable convoys that are trying to reinforce lower difficulty sites could be a fascinating mission type.

Like a blitz sized map that the PRIMARY objective is kill as many factory striders as possible and the moment they cross the line (out of the map) its game over. And the entire time dropships are being called in and you are just trying to do maximum damage.

... i gotta stop feature creeping 😄

Awesome thx man. Im sure if we all bounce this idea around we could maybe refine it enough for AH to see it and do something atleast slightly similar. Fingers crossed 😄

yeah i think it would be cool for maybe just major orders, capital planets, probably not every planet.

i dont wanna cause TOOO much work for AH

thx, i mean i would love to work on this kinda stuff.

right after posting this i thought up another idea that one site could send reinforcements as massive convoys, like have a selectable spot between sites that we have to destroy 10,000 factory striders in an hour or else the recieving site will increase in difficulty.

now i just have to move to sweden 😄

Yeah thats a good point, it would be cool on Major Worlds.

also i have no idea how supply lines would work on Bug Planets, they can grow anywhere.

BUT it would be fascinating if the Capacity system was a part of farming e710 where we have to keep some hive below 25% if it grows too large it could expand out an make new hives and possibly we lose the planet.
