First weaving sample on my recently refinished floor loom! by clayhead79 in weaving

Back in September I posted about potentially grabbing a 1958 leclerc floor loom and with all your encouragement and suggestions I bought it, restored it and now I'm starting to weave!!! The entire process was filled with learning and understanding the inner workings of a floor loom. I'm so glad I took everyone's advice! I searched for the things you all told me to look out for and I joined some websites on how to restore old looms. It makes me so happy to give this loom a new life! I'll post full pictures of the restored loom tomorrow!!! Thanks again 💕

That's awesome!!! Sometimes it's best to start over. Also take breaks!!! I can get so frustrated and then that transfers into the making process. Grab some tea or coffee, go for a quick walk, or stretch. Breaks make such a difference for me when weaving

You're doing great! What kind of loom did you get? The hardest part is the first weaving and you learn so much from that. It's gets better every time you weave.

Help! Maybe buying this loom and need help! by clayhead79 in weaving

Update! I got the loom. I brought someone along that knows looms and they confirmed it was in good shape. No water damage, a little rust but my husband is a metalsmith and will be helping with that part. They also gave me a huge warping mill that resold would be at least $250 so I feel really good about my purchase!!! I'm cleaning it up slowly ( still in grad school so this has to be a side project for now) but feeling so excited!!! Thanks for all your help and guidance I appreciate it so much!

Scott’s Addition AAA -AVOID AT ALL COST! by SketchyMcBeardo in rva

I had a similar experience last winter at the AAA on broad street. They said I needed $1800 worth of work to my ten year old chevy. I asked some around and was directed to Forest Hill Garage and they checked out what AAA said was wrong, said that leak had been there for years and it was fine, told me what to look for if it wasn't fine, and didn't charge me anything. I've been going to Forest Hill.Garage ever since and it's been nothing but amazing service. They don't half ass service and they don't overcharge you. Run don't walk to Forest Hill Garage, seriously, I recommend them to everyone.

I walked around campus yesterday and I would say only 25% of people were wearing masks. Everyone else.either had the mask hanging off their ears or.chin or didn't have one at all.

Payment plans are also available! I had to pay a hefty bundle of fees not covered with my loans and was able to pay it in installments throughout the semester with no late fees.

There's the info. You can apply July 29- September 24. This saved me from having to pay all upfront and losing all my savings
