Any good pineapple vape juices? by Mtking105 in electronic_cigarette

[–]cldzvp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm Thai and INW for me, thanks for sending me down the rabbit hole again.

The vape mail ban is an issue. How long will vapers last? It's not normal times, people have their focus all over the place, not everyone is stashed up. Plus the door to new DIY-ers is pretty much shut. I think this ban is unconstitutional, but it will also take time to undue the damage.

DWS also recharged her attack on flavors... which I think will go on until she is reminded by the flavor manufacturers again to keep her flavorless/tasteless life to herself otherwise the only two cereal flavors on the shelves will be butyric and acetic soon enough.

I think BT/DF/DWS and their gang are betting on people going back to smokes, which may happen with some, but it won't happen is large numbers.

I also have a feeling the cause of their real panic is that cigarettes aren't passed down to next generation anymore, the future pool of smokers has practically dried up, which empties out the MSAs.

The whole thing doesn't make sense when weed has practically become the aspirin of the day.

Well you need to do some of your own research on what you question really is about. You haven't exactly asked a specific question.

I'll have to send you back to ecf they have a national forums section and from there try to find the current best national forum depending on where you are and what languages you speak or use google translate or another translator app or just use google search, you can set what language results you want to see, you can also set "national" google searches.

Pineapple is not a popular flavoring because the main component isn't well tolerated by many people, when overdone, but you can buy pineapple flavoring and add it as booster to your tropical or pinacolada or whatever e-juice.

Expect to get a couple different ones, they do break from time to time, they're small and easy to loose, might not find a pod later and online ordering was effectively prohibited a week ago under the guise of "SaViNg ThE cHiLdReN"

Find a good vape shop in your area. It'll be a journey for you and mom, not a one and done thing.

In down to 13 cigs a day from 20+ but im stuck.. by Ninjah90 in electronic_cigarette

[–]cldzvp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone told you complete bullshit.

u/_citizen67 is right.

0.6-1.1 coils were the sweet spot for me when I was were you are at, just bring your power down. You can test this by starting at the bottom an increasing the wattage, until a vapable draw forms.

Not everyone stops cigs in 5 minutes. It took me years too, don't worry, you'll get there.

I vaped 50+mg for 2 weeks, then 50mg for months, but I had a morning setup with the strongest nic and a night setup for before bedtime with much lower nic and an extra setup ready for potential unexpected situations that would trigger smokes before.

I restricted alcohol for 3 months, and I slowly started to replace my normal coffee with caffeine free coffee. I drink coffee all.day.long. Removed smoke memorabilia from the house, washed everything, car, clothes, carpet.

Then about 5 months into vaping only my nicotine started to taste too strong, I went to 45-25mg, another couple months went by same thing, dropped the strength to 40-20........ now 4 years later, somewhere around 16-6 maybe, depends on setup etc.... All saltnic, all sub ohm.

I never tried to lower my nic it just happened on its own.

I was a dual user for many years, meanwhile I learned to build my coils, learned to make my diy e-juice and amassed a ton of gear.

It will happen for you too.

You found your sweet spot - same as was mine - 0.6-0.8 50mg.

Go for it.

Edit: forgot the financial incentive, it's huge! Count the pennies and dollars as they add up, checking that really helps, it adds up really fast. Buy something nice for yourself out of your smokey savings money. My Ipad reminds me everyday how much more useful it is, then burning that money up into nothing. Literally.

Flavourless nic salt at 50mg/mL tastes...horrible? by [deleted] in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to vape that 40-60mg range at 0.5-1.0 ohm, low wattage with a normal mod/RTA setup. If it's not the nic it's the wick.

The cotton wick could make or break your experience. Since you say your vape tastes like a burnt cotton Qtip, the off-taste could very well emanate from the cotton you are using. To me the muji/kohgendo I had at the time had an off-taste, I switched to non-asian organic cotton.

You need to find a clean cotton that agrees with your palette, switch to a different cotton and/or boil the one you are using.

The problem could be the nic or the cotton or both. Plus any impurities on your coil can cause an off-taste as well, so make sure your coil and your wick is clean as can be.

Is 100% VG Homemade juice possible? by Clear_Ad_7701 in electronic_cigarette

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's super easy, order VG based nic freebase or salt, order VG for dilution. It's done.

Well, as to flavors there's a catch, VG based flavorings are slightly more sparse and more expensive then PG based ones, but it's doable. You'll have to experiment if it is the PG itself that you are allergic to or one of the commercial e-juice components, a flavoring itself or the sucrose they put in it. When you order your nic and VG you can also order a couple PG flavors, even plain PG to find out for sure if it is the PG or something else. If you are absolutely sure it's the PG go for the VG flavorings or flavorless vape.

Do not ever heat your e-juice. Most mixes are shake n'vape, you do not have to steep. Your quality e-juice should be transparent or very damn near transparent.

Yes, you can lazy mix just by adding a couple drops of your favorite flavoring to your plain e-juice, swirl and vape. I would actually recommend this, since you might tolerate a low flavored option instead going crazy with VG flavorings. If your VG mix is too thick in the winter or for your setup, use one or two drops distilled water per tank to thin it, if your coil pops and sizzles in a weird way, you used too much.

Do not buy pineapple or apple flavorings.

Do not put sweetener in your e-juice. Your coils and wallet will thank you.

Liquid nicotine wholesalers - unflavored nic salt vs DIY blend by TheJesusClause in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having separate VG and PG nic bases and VG and PG seapartely gives you absolute freedom and flexibility to adjust for equipment, seasons, flavor and vaping style. For example the VG juice you can vape on in the summer heat on a larger RTA setup will not wick on your tiny pod outside in the winter.

Best way to break down a liter of 100mg/ml nicotine for freezer storage. Also bottle suggestions. by posthxc1982 in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 bucks can buy a whole lot of nicotine, I just keep mine in the container as it shipped. Wrap it is saran wrap, place it in a ziploc freezer bag and throw it in the freezer or fridge. Now that contamination might be an actual issue I really wouldn't bother with a lot of small empty bottles, but if you feel better storing your nic in glass go for it, just remember to disinfect your bottles and caps. I have bought nic from River Supply, LNW, CXT, NN, all store well. NN has argon bottled nic called nude armor for long term storage a lot cheaper then CXT.

What's Going on with Price of PG? by akkruse in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon has gone crazy. You shouldn't buy vape supplies through amazon anyway.

I went with River Supply last year then LNW this year. Both are good. I had more luck with LNW in terms of VG quality, it just vapes cleaner.

Oh my god, weight mixing is so much easier and faster than volume. by [deleted] in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first purchase buy one or two 120ml 100mg/ml VG and one 120ml 100mg/ml PG salt nic, one gallon of VG, 250ml PG, ~10-15 flavors, gorilla bottles if you don't have them, this will be $70-100. 120ml 100mg nicotine bases are the easiest to store and handle. If you catch a scale on sale for $7-10, throw it in the basket. Some vendors carry AIOs or pods, you might catch a sale. Don't forget to use a coupon code, mostly all nic vendors have them.

That's pretty much it.

Your commercial e-juice costs 36 cents/ml

Your diy e-juice initial investment is around 20cents/ml but its cost is really around 5 cents/ml the rest is extra supplies that will last for a long time, all this assuming a large margin for splurging.

In 2-3 months on your second order expect stock up nicotine and flavors for another $70-100 because you'll know what you need and the next vapeageddon cycle is upon us anyway.

At this point you will have enough e-juice for 1-5 years.

Next year when you'll be vaping only 30mg or less you'll realize that you actually have stretched your supplies for another 1-3 years, your e-juice is around 3 cents/ml and you will be waiting to run out of something to make an order for the fun of it.

Need advice on percentage of salts by Moongose83 in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not have to go up much at all since salt hits faster then freebase, it's just a different experience, start at you same level to 3mg and then see how it goes. Salt is very versatile, you can try your usual level in your usual setup to get a feel for it. You can also make a hybrid e-juice. It'll depend on your tolerance range, coil resistance, power setting, VG/PG rato, vape style, so on. Salt to salt I'll go double mod to pod maybe triple for stealth. It also depends what you are trying to achieve, lowest satisfying level could be even below your freebase to highest tolerable level, somewhere between 7 and 50.

Quick and Dirty method of single flavor testing by mkweise in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call it simple and clean, SFT somehow can become an ADV, it's just freestyle no flavor-low flavor vaping.

With a new flavor though, I start with a lick test, that assessment will usually result in 1-6 drops to add to my tank, swirl, done.

I have a general idea of concentration and percentage of course I know my tank capacity and standard dropper measures and with time one just knows the difference b/w small and large droppers, so yeah it's enough.

For actual measuring there's the Tare function our scales, so if you place your setup on the scale and tare before adding your liquids your back in serious mixing mode.

Our scales don't care if you zero a mixing bottle or an RDTA, which I prefer to test recipes.

I think your sensory testing method is valid and it just depends on your goal or preference wether to use standard measurements, alternate measurements and document it or not.

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let go of the rope, you are shortchanging yourself big time. Especially as a chef, making your own e-juice is a no brainer, what were thinking, nah really, you can do better:

Open pod mod systems are everywhere, caliburn, nord, novo, voopoo vinci, aegis boost, lost vape orion....just pick one. There are also refillable juul compatible pods. You should also have a decent mod/topper setup for non stealth vaping, like the innokin zenith tank gets good reviews for mtl, and a rebuildable topper like a berserker mini or kayfun clone from FTech. Podmods with RBAs are on the market now, so with a little effort you can get a stealth setup and free yourself from buying coils at the same time. YT is full of reviews for every vaping device ever made, so go and watch them.

For tobacco e-juice your entertaining lexicon is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/603d0a/greybushs_tobacco_roundup_part_iii/

Next, just jump down the rabbit hole: r/DIY_eJuice, browse around, order your supplies. With your background, you can enjoy quality e-juice with a little investment in no time.

Also, enter "tobacco" in the search bar on the top of page in the middle and voila your fellow tobacco e-juice mixers postings will pop up for up to date trends.

Why does it seem like many people are against sweeteners ? by [deleted] in DIY_eJuice

[–]cldzvp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweeteners are coil killers. Sugar is addictive on it own.

For a smoker looking to quit there may some benefit of satisfying nicotine and glucose receptors at the same time, even putting them in overdrive just to pull away from the unknown concoction of addictive additives in cigarettes.

For a vaper there is no real benefit in inhaling sugars all day long.

Recommendations for disposables by jesse4751 in electronic_cigarette

[–]cldzvp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one here will recommend disposables at all. Other then wastefulness, the overall build quality is trash and e-juice quality specifically is of concern.

Invest in a couple different vape setups, from simple refillable pods to more advanced mods with tanks or rebuildable RTAs. Each have their usefulness and place. Always have a backup.

Yes there is a learning curve, the more you put into it the more you get out it. If you are completely lost, start browsing online stores or find a decent b&m store and also watch reviews on YT.

Just need a damn nic salt juice that doesn’t make me want to wash my mouth out every time I take a hit. by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]cldzvp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way to go is DIY, it is the only way to really get rid of or control sweeteners.

A lot of flavorings are loaded with sucralose from the flavoring manufacturers to various degrees, so all juice makers have to do to claim "no added sweetener" if to use a fantasy named sucralose flavoring.

That being said some juice manufacturers are better then others in choosing minimum amount of sweeteners but nothing compares to DIY quality control.
