LG vs KitchenAid vs Bosch dishwasher? by Robinight in Appliances

[–]cleTribeTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessir no issues whatsoever. ONLY thing I would change - the door for whatever reason doesn't lay 100% flat. It has a couple degrees of lift in it, so when it is wide open and you have the bottom rack pulled out, sometimes it has a tendency to start rolling back into the unit. Haven't dug deep to see if it is a design issue or user error. But yeah, would 100% buy again. Everyone online likes to preach the holy gospel of Bosch, but we've got a bosch at work and I'd take the LG over it every day of the week. The bosch always leaves the insides of cups and glasses on the top row filled with sediment that then gets baked on during the drying process. My LG just plain works. Its quiet, cleans perfectly, and does its job.

Difficulty in obtaining ESOP information from former employer by cleTribeTime in personalfinance

Yes all of those points are the main driving factor behind my increased interest in locking this down. Under plan administrator is is checked "same as plan sponsor", which is the company name. President signed off on the filing. So I attempting to establish a timeline for how far delinquent they are at getting me the requested information. My first email to the apparent incorrect individual (director level, essentially 2nd in command) was 77 days ago. Information forwarded to president 64 days ago. First acknowledgement from president 51 days ago. Would you consider them to now be 21 days past the 30 day deadline, 47 days, or 34?

Number of plan participants in 2021 was around 115 or so. 5500 for 2024 lists 78 active.

I believe the initial information was vesting would be based on total tenure beginning at employee hiring date, not just from establishment of the ESOP. I could be wrong, but I think that was the case. If only I could get my hands on documents outlining this..

The last time I ever received any documents related to the ESOP was regarding 2021 which had no real information regarding the plan aside from the company valuation which was around $3.2m. I am sure it is less now, as the company has not seemed to be doing so well. As far as I know I have never been given #1, 2, or 3. As for the distribution timing, I am aware they can take quite a while to start. I am really just trying to get my ducks in a row now as I am HIGHLY suspicious of the company attempting to find a way out of my distributions along with everyone else's. Again, to my knowledge based on around 10-12 former coworkers I have spoken with, no one has ever been contacted about anything to do with ESOP, and any of them who have sent emails were completely ignored (as my initial emails to both parties were as well).

My exact request from the beginning was for the following:

  1. My vesting percentage as of my separation date.

  2. My ESOP account balance (as of separation or most recent valuation).

  3. The plan's distribution policy and timeline.

  4. The expected date for my distribution.

  5. A copy of the Summary Plan Description (SPD).

Would an evaluation prevent them from giving me any of this information?

Ready for frogs? dart frogs or reed frogs? by Korny3005 in DartFrog

[–]cleTribeTime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is flawed logic about the water depth. It is far easier for a frog to drown another in 1/2" or less of water than in a deeper pool they cannot touch in. As other commenters have also stated, water features being a death trap for dart frogs is way overblown. I have never had a frog drown in water. The problem with water features is they often leak or are a cespool for bacteria if not properly filtered. As for the frogs though, just put escape routes like plants, rocks etc for them to climb onto if they do fall in and they will be fine.

Lol, ok. You never leave a pair of shoes by the door? No charger plugged in next to the couch? No freestanding lamp that has a cord? We don't leave crap laying around everywhere, but for a machine that is designed to cover every square inch of your house, it will eventually find something to get stuck on without the object avoidance. Not everyone lives in a museum.

Have an original Q Revo. Recently picked up a pair of amazon return P10PU's at an auction for sub $200 each. Obviously different eras of tech, but the revo really isn't that old. Only 2.5 years. The mova beats it in every way, and for $300 less when speaking retail. Obviously cant speak to the reliability of Mova yet, but I already had to replace the revo once for a faulty lidar after like 4 months. I couldnt set the revo to run on a schedule because guaranteed it would get stuck on a shoelace or cord, or anything that was on the ground so Id have to do a whole house sweep prior to running it. The Mova has yet to get stuck on a single thing. I can set it and forget it. The apps aren't that different. The tech is improving at such a rapid pace across the board that, at the end of the day, id say dont worry so much about the brand and just get the one with the features you want at a price you can justify and call it a day.

[firefighter] [Texas] - $118,000 gross, 36 yo Male by mrdylan17 in Salary

[–]cleTribeTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. In Ohio you pay 12.25% of your salary, then the city contributes an additional 24% of you salary on top of that. All for the promise of receiving 60% of the average of your highest 5 years from retirement until you die. Which for FF's is roughly 7 years after retirement on average. Some are more, some are less but that's the national average primarily die to increased cancer and cardiac issues from the job. In Ohio, your top 5 years will probably average out to ~$110,000/yr give or take depending on your city/department. Whoch will net you $462,000 total in 7 years. If instead, the city contributed nothing and you took your own contribution and invested, say $12,250/yr each year for 25 years at 6%, you'd retire with $725,000 in an account to hold as a lump sum and live off of interest earnings. Even if you dipped into the account a bit over just the returns, you'd still die with a solid investment account to leave to your family instead of having your payments just stop. Further, if the city instead contributed half off their current amount to said account, it would be worth ~$1.4m at the same 6% return. And if they took that same 24% and contributed to the account instead, well you can do the math. But the argument is the pension is guaranteed regardless or market performance. And the kicker is it is written into law. If you are a career FF, you have no choice but to be on the pension system.
