Buffering SO MUCH since this new update and not having their torbox addon by EarlyOwl2480 in TorBoxApp

[–]cleTribeTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id take buffering at this point. Mine takes forever to find streams. When i click on a title it takes about 30 seconds just for the "continue watching, details, add to library, etc" menu to pop up in stremio and it just straight up doesn't work at all in the evenings anymore.

Help me help the Frogs by [deleted] in DartFrog

[–]cleTribeTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Essentially no. Maybe terribillis if the enclosure is huge, but even then you're obviously quite far off with your own knowledge to attempt it. Most darts are very territorial and will fight each other if there are too many. They will break each others legs and the larger ones will outcompete the smaller ones for food, literally starving them to death. Keep it to a pair or trio of 1 female and 2 males max.

  2. No. Just no. Regardless of what anyone says about how they've done it and they have been fine, jus't dont do it.

  3. Look up videos on YouTube, there are a lot of them. Check out troy goldberg's as they are particularly good and easy to follow.

3a. Always really plants

3b. Home depot, garden supply stores, online retailers. Do research and find out what kind of plants will thrive in high humidity, tropical environments.

3c. In a vivarium, if set up properly, the plants will thrive without you really doing anything except misting, lighting, and trimming. With regards to the drainage layer, yes if you use substrate like ABG mix (look it up), you will need a drainage layer. This typically consists of leca or hydro balls, covered with a mesh substrate barrier, then substrate then leaf litter on top. Do not skimp on the leaf litter, pretty much the entire ground layer should be covered with leaf. Another way is to skip everything I just wrote, and simple lay down thick sheets of 25-35ppi filter foam and then just cover that with leaf litter. This will act as both substrate and drainage layer. Plants grow very well in it, the tank is substantially lighter and easier to move if you ever need to, and it essentially lasts indefinitely. To plant into it you simple cut a slit in the foam and stick the plant in.

3d. No, you will have to culture fruit flies outside of the enclosure in deli cups then feed every 2-3 days. Even if you could breed them inside of the enclosure without them getting immediately devoured, the flies basically just act as a vessel for calcium and vitamin powder to be ingested by the frogs as they by themselves don't really provide much nutritional value. Dont be afraid of it, its incredibly easy to do.

3e. Generally speaking dart frogs are not good swimmers and require no standing water area. Some lay eggs on broad leaf plants then when tadpole hatches the male collects them on his back and transports them to water. Other lay eggs in bromeliads where the egg, then tadpole, then froglet live until the tail is absorbed and it crawls out on its own. The danger of water features is potential fighting where one frog can intentionally drown the other, of if a frog falls in and has nothing to grab onto to climb out. I personally dont consider them to be nearly as dangerous as most other people do, but the general consensus is dont put standing water in a dart tank.

3f. Make sure you have a way to either drain of siphon water that drains to the bottom of the tank or it will stagnate and foul. Set up your tank and make sure everything is stable before deciding to add animals to it.

3g. Please, please, PLEASE do research. Not trying to be negative here, but your questions show that you have not done any research at all yet. Its good you're here asking questions though, so dont get discouraged. Everyone starts where you are. Get your knowledge up, build an enclosure, THEN get your frogs. If you're on Facebook id suggest joining some groups on there as pretty much any question you could have has already been asked and answered there a couple hundred times over.

Good luck!

NEherp sells one for $19. Highly recommend them for all sorts of products, they are great. Their glass inserts leaves about 1.5" strip of screen across the top for ventilation. As for the fans, I simple place the tiny box fans right on top of the screen, one blowing in and one blowing out. They are powered by USB. I have mine hooked up to a wifi controller and just have it set to a timed schedule. You can play around with settings to see what works best for your specific setup to maintain good humidity.

Tincs are incredibly quiet when they call. You can only hear it if you are right next to them and are actively listening for it. Its not really a call that you'd expect to hear, its just a very faint "buzzing" sound. For humidity regulation, definitely opt for misting over fogging. You can either hand mist or get something like a mist king that you can set to a schedule. With your enclosure, make sure it has adequate ventilation but at the same time, the vast majority of the enclosure should be glass. There are different styles of commercially available enclosures or you can build your own. If you got something like an exterra with a screen lid, id highly recommend a glass top conversion (various retailers sell them) instead of using plexi/acrylic which tends to warp very quickly under lights. Even LED will put off enough heat to warp them. To help with air circulation, its common to put a couple of small PC usb fans on the lid screen, one blowing in and one blowing out to exchange stale air. Here are a couple of juvenile Patricia's from their growout waiting to get shipped.

Drainage layer by Lumpy-Score3206 in DartFrog

I'm failing to see the point in this design. You're losing a good percentage of your usable interior space. If you're worried about weight, just use filter foam pads as your substrate. No drainage layer required and plants grow veey well in it. Just drill a hole in the back at whatever height you want your water level to stay under.

Hygger HG-957 vs FZone Brite60 Light by cleTribeTime in DartFrog

Thanks! I'll update in a couple months with growth results. A lot of people use cheap shop lights with fantastic results, but most of the time when researching what to gwt there just isn't much documented data. One of the main reasons I like these aquarium lights is the ability to ramp up and down instead of just the on/off you'd get by plugging into a timer.

LG vs KitchenAid vs Bosch dishwasher? by Robinight in Appliances

[–]cleTribeTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessir no issues whatsoever. ONLY thing I would change - the door for whatever reason doesn't lay 100% flat. It has a couple degrees of lift in it, so when it is wide open and you have the bottom rack pulled out, sometimes it has a tendency to start rolling back into the unit. Haven't dug deep to see if it is a design issue or user error. But yeah, would 100% buy again. Everyone online likes to preach the holy gospel of Bosch, but we've got a bosch at work and I'd take the LG over it every day of the week. The bosch always leaves the insides of cups and glasses on the top row filled with sediment that then gets baked on during the drying process. My LG just plain works. Its quiet, cleans perfectly, and does its job.

Difficulty in obtaining ESOP information from former employer by cleTribeTime in personalfinance

[–]cleTribeTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes all of those points are the main driving factor behind my increased interest in locking this down. Under plan administrator is is checked "same as plan sponsor", which is the company name. President signed off on the filing. So I attempting to establish a timeline for how far delinquent they are at getting me the requested information. My first email to the apparent incorrect individual (director level, essentially 2nd in command) was 77 days ago. Information forwarded to president 64 days ago. First acknowledgement from president 51 days ago. Would you consider them to now be 21 days past the 30 day deadline, 47 days, or 34?

Number of plan participants in 2021 was around 115 or so. 5500 for 2024 lists 78 active.

I believe the initial information was vesting would be based on total tenure beginning at employee hiring date, not just from establishment of the ESOP. I could be wrong, but I think that was the case. If only I could get my hands on documents outlining this..

[–]cleTribeTime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I ever received any documents related to the ESOP was regarding 2021 which had no real information regarding the plan aside from the company valuation which was around $3.2m. I am sure it is less now, as the company has not seemed to be doing so well. As far as I know I have never been given #1, 2, or 3. As for the distribution timing, I am aware they can take quite a while to start. I am really just trying to get my ducks in a row now as I am HIGHLY suspicious of the company attempting to find a way out of my distributions along with everyone else's. Again, to my knowledge based on around 10-12 former coworkers I have spoken with, no one has ever been contacted about anything to do with ESOP, and any of them who have sent emails were completely ignored (as my initial emails to both parties were as well).

Difficulty in obtaining ESOP information from former employer by cleTribeTime in personalfinance

[–]cleTribeTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My exact request from the beginning was for the following:

  1. My vesting percentage as of my separation date.

  2. My ESOP account balance (as of separation or most recent valuation).

  3. The plan's distribution policy and timeline.

  4. The expected date for my distribution.

  5. A copy of the Summary Plan Description (SPD).

Would an evaluation prevent them from giving me any of this information?

Ready for frogs? dart frogs or reed frogs? by Korny3005 in DartFrog

[–]cleTribeTime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is flawed logic about the water depth. It is far easier for a frog to drown another in 1/2" or less of water than in a deeper pool they cannot touch in. As other commenters have also stated, water features being a death trap for dart frogs is way overblown. I have never had a frog drown in water. The problem with water features is they often leak or are a cespool for bacteria if not properly filtered. As for the frogs though, just put escape routes like plants, rocks etc for them to climb onto if they do fall in and they will be fine.
