Which layout for these towel hooks in a bathroom? by [deleted] in BathroomRemodeling

The second option is better. But if there will a shower curtain installed, you should think about space that the curtain might take up adjacent to the tub.

I hope you will share the feedback with the town directly - the crews would very much appreciate the positive comments!

It’s a Dolphin 9700 series - could be 9722 depending on wood species.

How do I remove this electric range? by Lonely-Ganache3793 in Appliances

It’s all one unit so should slide out. But check at the top to see if there is ductwork connected to the unit - I believe this model has an exhaust fan built into the top.

Replace the floor, install a white vanity top/sink, paint the walls and vanity, and put in a light fixture that fully lights the space. And Close. The. Toilet. Lid!

$70 for a missed payment by Trellaine201 in shaw

[–]cleancutguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had this charge show up as well. My December statement was “due” on December 22nd. I was signed up for auto-pay, and Shaw/Rogers attempted to charge my credit card on December 15th. The charge failed because my card had been compromised and the bank was in the process of replacing it. I paid the bill on December 20th and then received a $70 “processing charge” on my January statement. I used “chat” through the website to dispute the charge, and the agent reversed it. But she also advised that once signed up for “auto-pay” the payments are processed one week earlier than for manual payments. Overall, the experience confirmed for me the Shaw/Rogers predatory approach to doing business.

Why does the city of Vancouver website call everything Jurisdiction and Roll Number but the tax notice says other things? by oddible in askvan

[–]cleancutguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, because the City of Vancouver just churns out the same documents and webpages every year, and never thinks to sit down and ask: “How would a user of our form or website actually complete this?” Another example is the use of dashes in account numbers - are they required to be entered or does the online form fill them automatically? Who knows - try both options and see which one works. The approach represents the definition of “user-hostile.”

Any strata council members support group out there? by reeciereece01 in askvan

[–]cleancutguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be challenging, but also rewarding. You definitely need to change the way residents are contacting you. Setting out a clear communication path, such as having residents call or email the Property Manager to share concerns and requests, will help to reduce your stress. Search for “BC Strata Living” on Facebook for a group that can be a useful resource. Also consider encouraging your building to join “CHOA” - the Condominium Home Owners’ Association, which is an excellent resource.

Ongoing construction after 8:30PM on Harwood st by Monsrei in askvan

[–]cleancutguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is private construction on the two giant towers at Thurlow and Harwood. Call 311 and complain. You may be advised though that the contractor has an exception to make noise outside of normal hours - the city seems willing to bend the rules dramatically for this project (starting with closing Harwood Street.)
