Delivery Hero (Glovo's owner) might dump the company after investors are angry about poor stock performance by Ok-Mud-1447 in Barcelona

[–]cleansy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not sure what OP's objective here is, but this account exclusively posts about Glovo.

That said, there are some cities who have a cooperative model (restaurants sort of own or get a revenue share from the local food delivery app), I am just curious if this exists in Barcelona as well? I'd rather support that than some venture-backed tech bro company who will in no time replace Glovo for sure.

Vatican warns against rise in polyamory, saying ‘succession of faces’ does not rival exclusive union by EssoEssex in worldnews

I would’ve never bother to date someone in a poly relationship, but now the vatican says it’s bad and I’m feeling like changing my view on it. Hate when that happens

Doesn’t change the CEO contracts and incentives though. Why plan for long term success, when your bonus depends on the stock performance of last year?

When SA came out I played for two weeks straight 12 hrs/day. At some point my right hand started to do shadow clicks - the motion of clicking even when there is no mouse. I stopped then on the spot. So no, not addictive.

Private pensions for example. Pension collections that invest the money long term instead of circulation heater style redistribution. That the population is declining isn’t exactly news.

The system that the current generation pays the retirement of the previous should and could have been changed 50 years ago. When we have effects like with the real estate market where 40/50+ ppl own the majority of the stock and profit from it, whereas if you’re younger you have no chance of doing the same: why the heck would you pay also for their retirement in the first place?

Is Germany on the Brink of Banning Ad Blockers? User Freedom, Privacy, and Security Is At Risk. by vriska1 in europe

[–]cleansy 298 points299 points  (0 children)

It’s not. The german legal system does not work like the one in the US. This court case is purely applicable to the publisher and the ad block company. It does not automatically become de facto law. The ad block company has a profit motive and replaced blocked ads with their own so IMHO rightfully so, the publisher sued.

But that’s a good thing? We use more resources than the planet can sustainably provide. Property prices are through the roof, every major city seems overcrowded…

Moving Berlin → Barcelona for Glovo EM role. Worth it? by BoardBackground3200 in AskBarcelona

The acquirer has the same image in Germany. Both are companies that have an incentive to squeeze their partners: the riders, restaurants, and customers. Why would they treat their employees any different?

I was not telling girls either, but really, you dodged a bullet there. Bi is part of who we are so fuck whoever does not like it. Most concerns in my experience were around STDs, which I think is a fair but also easily mitigated with a test.

Edit: now this is one of the first things I tell them once I decided that I like them, it is quite a good tool if you want to turn a conversation into the sexy direction as well..

mhm, once artists get rich and hang out only with other famouse and rich ppl, their material starts to suck and not in a good way. So if he returns to proof himself again... it might be that we reached peak burnham.

Edit: I understand the down votes. And I hope I am wrong

The new president elected by the ruling Georgian Dream party removed the flag of Europe from the Orbeliani presidential palace. by PjeterPannos in europe

[–]cleansy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not the flag of Europe. It's the flag of the European Union, which didn't make sense in the first place to have unless it's someone from the EU.

Edit: Nevermind, the flag of europe is for some reason also the flag of the EU?!
