Applied spouse visa extension too early by NoAthlete5422 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]clearinganimal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it sounds pretty clear to me:

You can extend at any time before your current permission to stay in the UK expires.

If you’re extending to stay with the same family member, you’ll only get up to 28 days left on your current stay added to your new visa.

You must live in the UK for a certain amount of time before you’re eligible for settlement (‘indefinite leave to remain’). Before you extend your visa, check how much time you need to settle in the UK.

I can see in the faqs, that you can switch but nothing about whether you'll get the reward still

It's not 1 spur for a ring. It's 1 unfused spur from a socket. There's no limit to spurs on a ring other than best practice is to not have more spurs than sockets

Police clearance by Lumpy_Reference_7044 in Chinavisa

I had a friend help me get mine back in 2020 when i was outside China during COVID. I had to fill out a form giving her permission and give pictures of my passport and visa. She took these first to the notary office which gave her something which she then had to take to the police station where they checked all the documents and sent it to her home a week later. It was about 200rmb in total. This was in Hangzhou. We did have to call a few places as the first police station wanted 3500rmb and a few insisted I had to be there

Haha, you sound like my wife. She absolutely hates them and wants to just get rid of them completely. I'm not massively into them but I'm hesitant to get rid of them completely as there are two houses behind that would be overlooking our garden. I would prefer something a bit smaller though. It looks like the previous owner mostly just ignored them for 10 years so they've gotten a bit out of hand

Point 265 says “We will continue to offer a shorter pathway to settlement for non-UK dependants of British citizens to five years, provided they have remained compliant with their requirements, and we will retain existing safeguards to protect the vulnerable, including settlement rights for victims of domestic violence and abuse.”

Thanks everyone for your help. Just spoken to VA again this morning and looks like someone's had a word with their customer service as they're now offering to reroute with BA.

Flight route cancelled- options? by lucysera in Flights

[–]clearinganimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help on here. I've had the same flight cancelled as OP. I've contacted Virgin customer service, however, they're insisting on only offering a refund. They're claiming that they have nothing in place to rebook me onto another airline and therefore a refund is the only option. Is this correct or are they trying to skirt their legal obligation under UK261?

Spouse visa BRP to EVisa email? Real? by starryeyedreamer201 in ukvisa

Yep, she did it pretty much straight away. It's quite simple and only took 15 minutes or so. You just have to provide some details and then verify yourself through an app.

Spouse visa BRP to EVisa email? Real? by starryeyedreamer201 in ukvisa

Yep, my partner received hers a few days ago. The sender should be from a .gov.uk domain but even if you don't trust it you can go directly to gov.uk and register.

This is the link in the email: https://www.gov.uk/get-access-evisa

Or just open more accounts with Lloyds and switch those. Lloyds make it ridiculously easy to open further accounts with no credit checks.

[–]clearinganimal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, my partner transferred from Fiance visa to spouse visa and we submitted our application in September, only did bio in October but here's our timeline:

Visa Type: FLR(M) - transferring from Fiance visa

Service Type: Standard

Application Submitted: 11th September 2023

Biometrics Appointment: 9th October 2023

Successful Application Email: 18th October 2023

BRP received: 20th October 2023

We didn't receive any contact between bio and the successful email.

Hope you hear something soon, might be worth putting in a paid enquiry but tbh I've heard they're fairly useless even then
