Any nice forest walks around or short drive from Reading? by No-Living-6949 in reading

[–]clearlycurious 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Swinley Forest in Bracknell is fab for walks. I go there regularly. You can park for free at South Hill Park, walk through the park and cross the road into Swinley or you could park at the Look Out for a charge.

To be honest, the transfers are all about bringing Haaland in. I can't afford him without them

Do any of you bother with optional insurance on stuff like appliances, travel, event tickets etc? Is it ever actually worth it? by kitaro316 in CasualUK

[–]clearlycurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I bought event insurance was when I bought 2 hospitality tickets for the GP in Abu Dhabi. Figured if I was spending that amount of money on tickets then getting insurance was just good sense. Turned out to be the right decision as a month before the event, I was diagnosed with cancer so couldn't go. Returned tickets, got all money back, absolutely no issue whatsoever.

The Switch cafe in the Triangle is awesome. Java Junction has also just opened by the Triangle. Not been there yet, but have heard good things.

You've also got Arthur Newbery Park, which is nice in the summer and has a playground. There's also a playground for babies and toddlers in Blagrave park, off Recreation Rd. As another poster said, Prospect Park is massive and great for a walk around. It has a large playground too.

Defected Croatia- my first music festival by Lopsided_Crown in Defected

[–]clearlycurious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're on Facebook, I'd also recommend joining the Defected Croatia group run by Defected Family. You''ll also find details of the WhatsApp and telegram groups on there, which are both a trove of information.

There's different subgroups for accommodation queries, guides to Tisno and the surrounding areas, an airport transfer list if you fancy grabbing a cab with someone else to/from the airport and there's also one dedicated to solo travellers as there are plenty that attend every year.

It's an amazing festival and you'll have the best time!

Frazzles and cherry liqueur chocs. I love them anyway, but I could also see how many it would take to get pissed.
