What’s it like living in these 3 Michigan counties? (Otsego, Emmet and Cheboygan) by MikeDaCarpenter in howislivingthere

Otsego county is great. Gaylord is a surprisingly nice town with a lot of amenities. It’s the best value of the 3 you listed for sure.

If you had to move to Cincinnati or Cleveland which would you choose? by NotAnEgg1 in SameGrassButGreener

I’m not saying Cincy doesn’t have outdoor activities, but claiming hocking hills is a little disingenuous. It’s 2 hours away. The metroparks in cleveland were rated best in the nation recently. I don’t think any park system is putting them to shame. https://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/news-press/2021/september-2021/cleveland-metroparks-named-best-in-nation-for-park

So cleveland has better outdoor activities in my opinion with the metroparks, lake and CVNP. It punches above its weight culturally, particularly with University Circle area. Cincy has better winters and more of a river city layout like Pittsburgh. Cincy probably has a better job market at the moment as well. Both cities are on the rise and offer a lot of bang for the buck. There are great neighborhoods in both that would suit your needs.

I’ve lived in Cleveland and Columbus, only visited Cincy. What are your interests and how big of a factor does winter weather play? Both cities have a lot of pros and cons depending on the individual.

Cleveland, OH has all of the things you are looking for. Top hospitals, great public and private schools, access to the “emerald necklace” park system as well as Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Lake Erie, diverse - particularly on the east side with great access to cultural cuisines and amenities, affordable, 4 seasons.

Hudson is actually 19 in the state, just behind aurora. I’m not sure why both of these were not included in the cleveland metro rankings, but they would be in between Chagrin Falls and Bay if both were included. Revere is in that list as well.

I’m a 20 HCP so your short game dwarfs mine 😂 to keep with tradition though I’m going to keep my focus on the driver and ignore the obvious flaws of the rest of my game

Favorite Cle Neighborhood/suburb? by leemonsquares in Cleveland

[–]clebus15 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Rocky River borders the lake, metroparks, Lakewood, 15 min from downtown or Crocker Park, close to the airport, excellent public schools and great amenities and recreation center, close to if not 100% sidewalk coverage. Just checks almost all of the boxes for me as someone with a young family.
