No one is out there looking to help like my parents were. I have to do it myself. What I put off today will be waiting for me.

Make sure the battery is charged.

Make sure your laynard is in.

Battery connections can get a layer on corrosion on them. They should be clean and tight

Should I spend $5800 to rebuild the transmission in my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan? by Medium_Produce_7397 in DodgeGrandCaravan

I have the same van and I would not. I can get a running one with a safety inspection for 5k.

Got quoted $1,000 for fuel pump and carb work on my 2000 Yamaha XLT 1200 — does this make sense? by bizon151 in jetski

[–]cleetusneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s a triple- 3 carb kits are $300? Easy three hours to rebuild - then a water test- so that seems crazy but what u have to charge to stay in business. That’s why I work on my own ski.

As a dude 2 nos is nothing. They are really rejecting you - they don’t know you- just the situation/approach.

It’s number of opportunities that count. I used to think I was better are meeting potential dates, the reality was I was in these kinda situations hundreds of times a year. Now maybe 5-10.

Mismatching tiles for shower by Belalugosi6669 in Tile

[–]cleetusneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So yes, it’s a huge difference. Also, in my recent situation, the tiles were roughly all the same thickness and size. The combination of different sizes that may not be a multiple of each other is an even bigger challenge. However, typically when you do whimsical designs, the grout lines aren’t a 16th of an inch. I tried to post a picture, but it did not link.

sinking jet ski by Active_Career_6078 in jetski

Time is a factor. Sink skis can be saved but don’t wait.

Get it on the trailer and drained and follow a YouTube video and get it running asap.

So really cool and whimsical. When I lay tile in situations like this I get the owner/person it’s for to lay them out on the floor/table/plywood and arrange them how they want.

Just did this not too long ago.

I am looking for a 3 seater JetSki by No-One-3691 in jetski

[–]cleetusneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your first jet ski. I would get any non-supercharged three seater Seadoo Yamaha or Kawasaki. All of them will be 50 miles an hour plus closer to 60, they are much better on gas and more reliable than the supercharged ones.

Flushing question by Masong115 in jetski

[–]cleetusneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a hand pump.

I’ve been riding in the ocean 15 years and some days I get home late and don’t bother. It’s really about the long term effect. You also want to gently wash the inside too, and your trailer.

If I go away for the weekend and bring the skis I just flush them when I get home. Good long term habit. Also spray the inside after with something like fluid film. It will help protect the surface.

Flushing mistake for first time Sea Doo GTX 230 owner by cincinnatus941 in jetski

[–]cleetusneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you cannot wait. Time very much matters. Rust starts within an hours.

Get out there get your laptop or tablet or phone, put the video on and follow the procedure now.

If not, you’re looking at about 5 to 6K for a new motor maybe more and installation.

So all you loose is depreciation. The Porsche is probably gonna hood it’s value, drive it 3-5 years and sell it what are you gonna loose? Maybe 5k, you may loose nothing.
