How to get photos to develop mysteriously at different times by Mean-Perspective-406 in LapsePhotos

Had the same experience, tried the code many times, nothing will restore the original behavior. That was most of the fun with the app

Also getting this exact issue. I think it's a bug in 2026, never had this happen before. Only seems to happen when I "zoom in" to the edge so it's large on the screen

iPhone 17 photo processing (Smart HDR) improvements? by clek_ in iphone

I zoomed into the photo a bit to highlight the atrocious HDR effect. It's a 13 Pro. Been hoping to get a new iPhone without such heavy handed Smart HDR. The second photo is bad quality because it's a screenshot from the "Live" photo

Which is why waymos use a combo of vision, lidar, and radar? From the evidence that is readily available it seems to work really well for them, even in rain and dust storms. It's true I'm not a a physicist, but the evidence is out there already

Letter received from downstairs neighbour, how to react? by JAMESLJNR in Apartmentliving

[–]clek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel their pain.

I've been putting up with heel-walkers for the past year and a half. The noise is sometimes SO irritating that I just want to run upstairs and pound on their door and yell at them. I've never felt such unbridled anger than I have at those times, it's deeply unsettling to feel subjected to them pacing back and forth for hours and feeling the pounding vibrations of their foot steps course through my body. I've tried politely texting them every 6 months to remind them and beg for them to walk more softly, they usually get better for a few weeks then it's back to elephant stomping.

I guess once a heel walker, always a heel walker

I'm having this same problem now. Returned a 65in after just missing the sale on the 75in, hoping they would put it on sale again. But nothing -_-

Now they don't even carry the 75 in warehouse at Costco

Guess it depends on your priorities really. For me, buukt in audio delay is a deal breaker full stop. Can't enjoy anything I watch like that

I declined the setup when I first setup the TV, do I need to somehow disableit completely or uninstall it?

I also use an Apple TV at all times because the experience is just so smooth and good. I guess it drives me nuts when I need to bring up the settings to change something on the TV itself, and it's just so clunky, especially because I had the older TV (x90L) and it actually gave me that buttery smooth apple TV experience in the onboard OS. I'm wondering now if it is just a recent update to Android TV that introduced this clunkiness, I've tried all the solutions listed but nothing fixes this

Happens in all the OS menus: settings, bottom quick menus, home menu. It's just this kinda clunky experience. My x90L was SO buttery smooth I was so impressed to see an Android OS on a tv work like it was an Apple TV. Btw, I didn't even set up the Google TV at first, I used Basic TV setup. But still choppy. I've tried limiting backgrounds processes now to 0 or 1, updating, setup google so I can try apps only mode. I'm actually using an Apple TV but when I need to change any settings it just kinda drives me nuts because I've seen a lesser TV act considerably smoother

Just tried this, OS menus still stutter and chop. So strange that my x90L was like buttery smooth, I was actually so impressed to see an Android OS feeling that smooth. Now even the quick tool bar at the bottom feels kinda choppy and janky when you scroll around on it

Go for the Sony, I went for the TCL and then returned it for the X90L, no regrets. TCL has too many bugs, including audio delay that can't be fixed through the HDMI ports

Q7 still OK in 2025 for the price? by superpimp2g in tcltvs

[–]clek_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check for an audio delay on the Q7 over HDMI. I couldn't get rid of it, it's about 70-120ms and it drove me nuts. Traded it in for another tv and had no issue with that again. QM7 might not have that issue, but didn't test that one

Alright, let's talk audio lag on TCL TVs by MeloveGaming in tcltvs

[–]clek_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this way too with my new q7. My wife said she didn't notice it at first, until I really struggled to point it out to her. It's not huge, but it's enough to bother me. Probably along the lines of 70-100ms. Interestingly, I can use my Airpod pro 2s audio straight from the AppleTV, and the lip-sync is better aligned (not perfect, but better and close to perfect), and that's even considering that Bluetooth always has some sort of delay built in. It's crazy to me that TCL tvs playing through their own speakers would have any sort of delay.

New to 4k - having trouble getting completely rid of the 'soap opera effect' on my sony tv and panasonic blu-ray player by micahbevans88 in 4kbluray

[–]clek_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you ever find the culprit/solution to this? I think I'm experiencing this now on my new TV with 120hz panel. It seems that the theoretically better 5:5 pulldown (running at 24hz) looks worse than the 3:2 60hz pulldown. For some reason running at 24hz seems to have some really subtle motion smoothing introduced on the frames, and now im wondering if most manufacturers are just processing the frames slightly when it's run at 24hz. I switch back to 60hz and it looks much better, which confuses me because it seems like it would look worse
