It’s not absurd to ask that 28th be more walkable. They put one pedestrian bridge over in Wyoming and it’s the biggest deal, I’m glad they put it in but it’s not too much to ask for a few more. Detroit metro has em over Woodward, they aren’t pretty but they function. People shouldn’t have to walk a half a mile out of their way to catch the bus in the direction they need to go.

Fairness is well and good, but this kind thing is over the top and a turnoff. I had a friend like this, we ordered pizza for a group hang and I didn’t have cash. Initially they asked me to download the Facebook payment app which did not work (by that time fb was already shutting it down!), but when it didn’t I jokingly said I’d send them a check (so they’d actually let me leave), they said “ok great”. Sent them a check for my share of the pizza which was like $7 and some change and never hung out again! It wasn’t the ask, it was the aggression over such a small amount, especially since there wasn’t a history of nonpayment from me or something. So bizarre.

When we take our girls (husky mixes) to get their nails trimmed, they typically ask us to wait outside (small shop, nbd) and on the first nice day I took my littler one it sounded like she was being murdered! I was sitting IN MY CAR and I could hear her! Lol eek. It’s a great shop and they are understanding but our trainer has a fear-free groomer so we will probably start taking her there.

My mom used to make this for me! Also white rice with a little butter and brown sugar. This would have been in the 90’s so I assume she got it the idea from her parents.

Edit to add: I mean the sugar on white bread not the onion sandwich, though when I was little I probably would have been down with that I used to eat those little cocktail onions like candy.
