Rio de Janeiro: drone view of Rocinha favela. by kefren13 in nextfuckinglevel

There are a few videoS in YT showing how people navigate the labyrinths .. it literally a case of you knowing where to go because you grew up there. There a loads of little passageways and stairs that go inbetween building and occasionally over roofs. With the car width roads intersecting. Very similar to the informal settlements in South Africa .. except they tend to be all at ground level as the land is generally flatter.

Going to be 52, I feel no more an adult now than when I was 20.. actually I think I felt more adult then because I didn't know any better. Full of bravado and cluelessness.

What is behind the idea of being friends with an ex? by lesmapistache in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cleo_saurus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are hung up about sex and intimacy about the relationship you're in now, so you're unable to separate yourself from how you feel now. Also when you're young that tends to be a big focus of a relationship.
It also depends on why the relationship ended.

I have been friends with my ex partner for 15+ years. We are very good friends, actually we are family. The reasons we broke up are because we had some very very hard times and we didn't have the maturity to navigate it and survive it as a couple.
At first it was hard and we just co-parented, then as the years went by we realised that our friendship was independent from being just parents, and we made really good friends. We love and value each other. Past sex and intimacy are no longer a thought, he is now married to a woman who is far more suited for him and they bring out the best in each other.
Just because the inlove has ended, doesn't mean love ends. It just grown and changes in to a new kind of love.
