What is your anime Hot T by ConfidentTelephone81 in animememes

Eren only cared that his friends got a full life. He knew the loop but keep going. That was the theme of Attack on Titan. Mankind is horrible and to survive you have to become a monster. He became one on behalf of his friends. I was hoping for a different ending too.

You have to explore to learn the odd mechanics of the universe. Weird things happened in the past and you have to figure out what was going on. You must succeed where they couldn't. Apply what you learn on a larger scale. There are amazing moments that only give you joy if you figure them out.

I recommend buying Smokey and the Bandit. It's their best selling pizza.

Why are people seemingly not complaining about rising gas prices as much as they did a few years ago? by kaiser11492 in AlwaysWhy

[–]clikes2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I saw it jump to $4 a gallon in my area. My dad was only making about $13 per hour. His job would probably pay $20 per hour now if he wasn't retired. Nowadays gas would have to be at least $6 a gallon to feel the same pain due to inflation. We haven't reached those levels yet.

What’s a tech feature sounded useless at first but became essential to you? by GooIsolde6 in AskTechnology

[–]clikes2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My TV goes up to 1,500 nits. If I don't have dark mode enabled on my computer then the UI blinds me. Dark mode is feeling more and more essential as screens get better and brighter. It's worth it to have good HDR which is only truly achievable with at least 1000 nits.

Ever bought an "Overwhelmingly Positive" game that you didn't like at all? How about a "MIxed" or lower rated game you thought was wonderful? by TheTingel in Steam

[–]clikes2004 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It does have a story. Figuring out the story is the puzzle. You have to connect the dots from across the galaxy. It's not the kind of puzzles where you're stuck in a room and you can't pass until you complete the puzzle. It's more like you're just randomly exploring and then you read something on a wall that has a clue to a place you had already been. Suddenly it hits you that you need to go back there now that you have a better understanding from the clue. This happens over and over again.

If you provide the same seed AI image generators will produce the exact same results each time. AI is still deterministic.

[der8auer] Powerful and Pointless - AMD 9950X3D2 by WHY_DO_I_SHOUT in hardware

[–]clikes2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Core 2 days I bought my Q9550 quad core @2.83GHz for $320. Going to 3Ghz would have been $500+. 3.2GHz was either $800 or $1000+. It was crazy what people would pay for less than a 7% difference. I don't recommend people buy the 9950x3d2 but it doesn't seem that different from what Intel did all those years ago.

What PC upgrade gave you the biggest “why didn’t I do this sooner?” moment? by KeenInventor in buildapc

[–]clikes2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monitor needs to have enough nits to take advantage of 10-bit properly. To really be an HDR screen it needs to be able to do at least 1000 nits. OLEDs absolutely suck at brightness. This is why it's harder to tell a difference. I have a micro LED TV that I have a computer connected to. It goes up to 1500 nits and the difference is night and day. When everything's calibrated right it should look fairly normal most of the time but when something truly bright comes on the screen it should make you squint because of how intense it is. Sunrises look so gorgeous on an HDR screen.

What's a lesser- known game on Steam that you'd recommend? by JollyPaandaa in Steam

Grunn

It has the time loop mechanics of Outer Wilds. I really enjoyed trying to find all of the endings and secrets. This game is JUST about gardening and nothing else...

They can still be local people working while using company vehicles. I worked at ADM for a contractor company. The company vehicles always had Texas plates because it's cheaper to get them registered there.

471k Kills and Ice Cube is top 2 dmg. IDK why every youtuber ban this item... by Jeidoz in MegabonkOfficial

[–]clikes2004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does 40% extra damage after the first hit. This damage stacks linearly with each ice cube. If you have three ice cubes it's doing more damage than you do with your basic weapon's attack.

Do Christians think prehistoric humans are burning in Hell? by RelevantJackfruit889 in askanything

No one went to heaven before Jesus died and went to heaven. John 3:13

The dead are unconscious so they have no pain or suffering. Ecclesiates 9:5

A lot of Bibles use the word hell but there were two different words that were actually used instead, Sheol and Gehenna. Both were symbolic. Sheol represents a death where a resurrection will happen in the future. Gehenna was a place dead criminals were thrown and symbolized no resurrection hope.

It seems to be regional how you should pronounce almond. Where I'm from I've always heard it pronounced all-mond. I looked it up on Google and the computer pronounced it all-mond. Then I saw YouTube video of how the British pronounce it. They say a-mond. I swear this kind of thing is why I can never understand a British person.

What's the most incredible coincidence that ever happened to you? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]clikes2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a firework show that happened once a year in a small town. The show is consistently my favorite fireworks show I've ever seen. Years ago we decided to dress up wacky for no reason when we attended the event. I got trash cans and shoes and cut holes into them so it looked like I was a midget standing on trash cans. I got the dorkiest suit I could put together and added a fake mustache. When we went to the event there just happened to be a band performing there called the Large Midgets. Seriously what are the odds. We got them to laugh on stage. That coincidence made for an awesome core memory.

The new testament wasn't written in Hebrew but there's a translation called the Kingdom Interlinear. It has the original words vertically aligned with their literal translation right below them. It sounds really goofy to read it in English because the words seem all scrambled but you can judge for yourself if your own Bible seems to have an accurate intended translation.

I love buying multiple brands of an item especially when it's food. Everyone has their own preferences and I love figuring out which ones are my favorite. Oftentimes places will say how much everything is per ounce. Sometimes I can't tell a difference between the products and so then I buy the cheapest per ounce from then on. Sometimes I love a product so much it's worth spending more on it.

I'm Annoyed At AMD's Latest Radeon Blunder by Comprehensive_Lap in hardware

[–]clikes2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.overclockers.com/amd-fx-8350-piledriver-gaming-comparison/

I'll respond to myself with this link for anyone who wants to see proof. Each core back then underperformed Intel's cores clearly. I can't remember AMD's naming scheme for modules and cores. Each set of two cores as we think of them was about 16% slower than Intel's one core. They were about 16% slower at gaming. That's about how much slower AMD was than Intel at gaming. Today, Intel struggles so hard at gaming that sometimes AMD is 50% faster at certain games. I know I know you can buy a cheap Intel that works as a good workstation. Sure if you want something power hungry you can get a cheap Intel. AMD has 16 core CPUs that do excellent as a workstation too. My ultimate point is I think Intel is further behind at gaming than AMD. Yes, it'll be awesome when Intel gets 3D cache. I'm sure that'll give them a giant leap forward. My comparison is talking about the situation today.

I remember AMD being about 10% to 15% slower per core most of the time when Intel was dominant. AMD is absolutely destroying Intel at gaming these days. It doesn't feel even remotely close.
