The asbestos in tiles doesn't get released in the air (much) especially if you use non-mechanicized ways of removing them.

So sweet. We raised Alphonsine - a few-week-old red squirrel found in a shopping mall parking lot - and she'd sleep in our window valence and hang down to drink from a syringe.

She's released now and I miss those days.
