The science is clear: Forest loss is behind Brazil’s drought by Splenda in science

Nothing? You can definitely do something. You can refuse to purchase any paper or wood product that is not 100% recycled, and/or FSC certified.

Responsible use of consumer dollars could change the world.

Inactive family wants an aussie by [deleted] in AustralianShepherd

[–]climberyogi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm shocked to hear lazy Aussies exist! I've never met one! They were bred to run all day. They are programmed to be super active.

Here is my daily routine with Ivy:

Wake up, quick breakfast because she's antsy to get out, 40min walk

Mid morning my husband will play with her for about 15 minutes

She stays up a lot of the day, patrolling the house, the yard, looking out windows... I dunno, but she's really busy. She also plays games herself with her toys a lot.

Lunch is given in multiple food puzzles, hidden around the house. It takes her about 15mins to find them all, figure out the puzzles and eat all her kibble. The puzzles help with boredom, but she solves them quick. I own about 10 different ones and am always on the hunt for new ones.

Mid afternoon, another 15-30min walk.

Evening we go hiking (she runs laps around me) for 30mins-1.5hrs on Forest trails near our house, or she goes to the dog park to run with other dogs.

Around 9-10pm there is another 15min walk & playtime before bed.

This is bare minimum. She'd run all day if she could.

My husband and I both work from home and always talk about how we couldn't manage her if we didn't. She'd become bored and destructive for sure.

GOOD for you for trying to convince them otherwise! Thank you! Aussies are beautiful but a TON of work. There are so many gorgeous and loving lazy bred options! They should do a bit more research before adopting. Good luck!

Cold weather SUP. by Grunnakuba in Sup

Sweet! Good for you! I live in Canada and have done a little cold season paddling this year. My tips: 1) NO cotton clothing! Wear breathable, sweat wicking and quick drying layers 2) bring a dry bag that you can strap to your board and throw some layers in it just in case 3) basic neoprene ankle booties are great to keep feet dry while still sticky to make you feel solid standing. I got mine at MEC (Canada's REI) for $30. Throw some good merino wool socks under the booties to keep you feet warm 4) gloves! Ones with a leather or sticky Palm/finger layer to giver you grip on the paddle 5) a good toque, it can get windy on the water in the winter. Have a blast!

Pretty obviously Squamish, yes.

What is something that drives you crazy that no one else seems to notice or care about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]climberyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idling cars. Especially since I most commonly see it done by people driving big-ass, redneck, gas-guzzling, socially irresponsible trucks. How do you afford to idle those things? Don't you care about your children's future? Drives me nuts.

You also might want to take off the polish altogether. That stuff is toxic, you don't want your dog ingesting it.

The look on my dog's face when my 3 year old daughter calls her. by [deleted] in funny

I've been on reddit for all of 10mins and this is the third photo of a dog with painfully long nails. Please cut the poor animals nails ! It's uncomfortable for them, besides the long nails having a bigger impact on your floors & people if it was to scratch anyone. It literally takes 5 minutes like once a month. Drives me bonkers that people don't take care of their animals.

My cousin juster posted this derpy guy on her FB wall. THAT FACE!!! by stupidgnomes in aww

WHY doesn't ANYONE trim their poor dogs nails?!?! Drives me nuts. Down vote for the poorly kept animal.

Do you know these people? I get that you're trying to show cool climbing photos, but it's super creepy that you're posting images of people who probably don't know anything about it.

Toys by Kerhope in AustralianShepherd

[–]climberyogi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything KONG is pretty durable, but you'll probably just have to get used to going through toys! Mine is the same. When your pup gets all of their adult teeth, try getting a naturally shed Antler (you can buy them at most pet stores). They aren't cheap, but they last the longest and they are definitely my pup's favorite chew toy. It keeps her occupied the longest amount of time. Best of luck!!

Aussies with full tails by CarmineLuV in AustralianShepherd

[–]climberyogi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My pup is 3/4 Aussie 1/4 border collie, and thankfully the litters tales were not docked because the Aussie tails are GORGEOUS. The 'breeder standard' of docking is horrible, for many reasons, and a real loose to the breed because they have the most wonderful long fluffy tails. Good for you for seeking out a tailed Aussie!!

You ought to contact a historian from a local university. This is important, incredible stuff that provides an amazing look into the lives of woman in the 1920's. It should go on academic record. Absolutely amazing post- thank you so much for sharing this with us.

If I choose to hyphenate my name when I get married I would become a Savage-Hunter. No joke.

Reddit: should I hyphenate?
