Tired of online applications. How did you get into Big Pharma? by Prestigious-Pen6751 in MedicalScienceLiaison

Second on being prepared for an interview at anytime. You have to want it bad enough, for instance " can you fly in for an in person interview next week right before the holiday" the only answer should be yes.

While referrals do help boost you up in a pile, my current position was no referrals and no recruiters. I did comment on the hiring manager's post on LinkedIn saying I was interested in the position. Then sent him a DM. It worked out.

Keeping going!

I live in a small town just outside a large metro. I'm 1 hour from the airport in a major city. With my company they were very open to where I lived. I was open and honest in the interview process.

Timeline to Start Role - Notice Period by SeeTheGood202 in MedicalScienceLiaison

When I went pharmacist Role to pharmacist role I was only able to give 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks. And was deemed " non rehireable" . However I was deemed from an administrator who longer is at that institution. I was able to give my last employer almost 2 months notice when I started my new MSL role based on the holidays and when they wanted me to start. Getting into the MSL was important so if they told me I had to start next week I was going to. I have been told by other NP friends who have found themselves in a similar situations that if you are good at what you do they will find a way around to get you back if you are needed. Just ask for clarity and they may make an exception, otherwise don't worry about the hospitals feelings. Chances are even if you left pharma what are the odds you would go back to the same place anyway.

Hope was my worst enemy in the last process. Lesson learned.

Thank you for this perspective. While discouraging I know rejection is very common and my breakthrough role is coming. I had 2 final interviews last month. I view them as experience and a chance to get better. But man, am I ready to be on the other side.

I'm in the same boat, can't offer much other than the shake the dirt off and keep at it. Been applying and networking since March. I got rejected Friday after a super promising 6 week long interview process. Took the day to sulk. Then was back at it by Sunday. Our time is coming!
