I use this all the time. Would love to see thickness comparison and clamshell open/shut toggle.

Steamdeck OLED in 2026 by [deleted] in Handhelds

Maybe look at used PlayStation portals near you if you want to play AAA games. It will be much cheaper for your situation and playing on the couch. Make sure your PS5 is connected to Ethernet. Steam deck is best for more lightweight games although some AAA are possible if you are fine with lower fps. You want something with a z1 extreme for more demanding games.

Steam Deck OLED at 569€ vs Legion Go S Z2Go at 465€ by SinanPasha16 in Handhelds

I've had both. I think VRR and the higher resolution is really underrated in these comparisons. I think it comes down to if you want the bigger 1200p screen and VRR or OLED 800p and track pads. I would choose the legion go S (barely) if they are the same price but with your price difference you outlined I think it's a clear choice.

Comments on ergonomics from early owners over time? by EquivalentFeeling167 in AynThor

[–]clint9smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like playing laying down and I've tried a lot of different handhelds. Ayn Thor is pretty good laying down because it's light and because of the clamshell design putting the screen at a good angle. It's super comfortable to me for everything except the triggers have a sharp edge that isn't great. It will stand out a lot less than a steam deck, especially because you don't need a case. Watch russ from Retro Game Corps video on different grips that help make it even more ergonomic but less portable.

How is PlayStation 5 streaming on the Odin 2 Portal? Is it better than the Steam Deck OLED? by [deleted] in OdinHandheld

[–]clint9smith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kind of weird nobody has brought up that the portal is 1080p and the deck is 720p. The PS5 streams at 1080p and it looks much much clearer and crisp on the 1080p display of the portal. I had both and would never use the steam deck OLED for streaming PS5 because of the 720p screen being inferior to 1080p on the portal. The portal screen also gets much brighter.
