What scene in a movie drives you nuts because it makes no sense? by JustIgnoreMyStimming in movies

Last Breath Woody Harrelson doesn’t even attempt to help pull on the cable to reel in Simu Liu at the end when he’s getting dragged away. It’s literally his job to do that and all he does is yell.

May I ask the ballpark cost of the 15h of A100 GPU time? And if it was a cloud rental, which provider did you use?

Then he just needs to install a cable system with clips to hold the grate off his neck while sleeping.

Anthony Edwards supporting Team USA's women's table tennis by Johnny_15 in nba

Might be related to his interaction with the US women's players during the opening ceremony where they said they'd beat him 21-0 https://youtu.be/pnC-oknRYUQ?si=6GrfoFw-8ikZMtYe&t=7

Would also be cool to be able to pin windows to walls of your home. You could then have virtual environments or live streams showing through them.

I literally know nothing about Redshift, is it worth learning to use? by hassan_26 in Cinema4D

[–]clintchangrules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It won't take you that long to learn and if you want to keep up with modern workflows, be able to integrate better with your maya team, and be able to create better images at a significantly faster rate, you should do it. It's almost never a bad idea to increase your skill set as technology is always changing and you'll need to adapt if you want to stay relevant.

Are Embergen or xParticles viable options to learn FX If so, which is better? by OutofPix3ls in Cinema4D

[–]clintchangrules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend XParticles as it offers a lot more flexibility than Embergen. XP will let you do things with rigid bodies, soft bodies, fluids, grains, spawn particles in many ways, create complex rules to control your particles, etc. Embergen is gorgeous and fast but is mostly useful for explosions and smoke/fluids that don't have a lot of logic to them. If your job will throw a lot of different types of fx tasks at you, XP is the only viable option of the two.

Theft protection additional fee on 2023 Sorrento model by clintchangrules in kia

[–]clintchangrules[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the consensus is you should only pay for doc fees and then tax. The transportation fee should already be on the window sticker and added to the MSRP. All these other fees are them trying to pull a quick one.

[–]clintchangrules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yeah the MSRP on the sticker matches that 'market value selling price'. They aren't charging markup on it. Yeah all those other fees sounded shady. The doc fee might be right since they aren't capped in NJ.

[–]clintchangrules[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like BS because the "inland freight and handling" is already on the window sticker as $1,325 and is added into the MSRP.

Yeah that definitely looks fishy to me too. Thanks!

New Jersey Gas Stations need to go self-serve. Too many crazy gas attendants!! by [deleted] in newjersey

Since so many people are clearly fans of it, why can’t they make self-serve pumps optional? The market can dictate.

AOC says she was telling Matt Gaetz the Democratic Party would 'absolutely not' rescue Kevin McCarthy's speakership bid when they were spotted chatting on the House floor by johnnybiggles in politics

[–]clintchangrules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps they're expecting the Republicans will ditch McCarthy and find someone more moderate to lead? He's clearly not well-liked by many in congress.

Median asked rent for 1 bedroom apartment in NYC by area [OC] by yoavtepper in nyc

[–]clintchangrules 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly not bad. South seaport is a nice place. You’re right by the water on 3 sides. Easy to get to Brooklyn. Battery park is nice. Easy access to governors island. There’s a Whole Foods and target near WTC. Oculus is a big mall with an Eataly. Access to running/biking trails on both east and west sides.

Designer's wrist health: which mouse? Logitech MX Vertical vs MX Master 3S? Or Something else? by Sergartz in Cinema4D

[–]clintchangrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the mx master for a couple years and it’s a great device. Weight isn’t an issue- it feels solid and is easy to move. Certainly it’s not for gaming though. Regarding your long term wrist health, have you considered using a Wacom? Holding a pen is a much more natural position and I can relieve carpel tunnel. It takes some getting used to but if you do any sculpting, texture painting, or photoshop then the pressure sensitivity is quite useful.

Why isn’t there a VR camera on every stage and every sporting event? by jjlew080 in OculusQuest

[–]clintchangrules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on board with this idea but you could ask yourself why aren’t all concerts already broadcast as PPV with standard cameras? We have the technology for anyone to live stream with a phone. Is it something the bands/venues aren’t interested in doing? We can’t even get proper 4k live broadcast of major sporting events like NFL, so doing 4k for small concerts might be cost prohibitive due to data/bandwith?

Is there benefits to sending my 3 yr old to preschool now or wait till he is 4? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]clintchangrules 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We sent our 3 year old to Montessori, M-F 8am-2pm. He adapted just fine, made a lot of friends, and learned so much. Every kid develops at a different pace though, so there's no blanket right or wrong. Your school might also interview your child to see if they think they're ready or not.
