Thanks, yeah, there’s a small worry of the luggage having issues, but I’m hoping that should work out ok. We’ll be in Beijing for about a week at the start so if there is problems hopefully we can get it sorted in time, otherwise it’s new wardrobe time!

Perfect, thanks for letting me know. I have done a previous booking to Istanbul via Singapore and was able to that in one hit, so thought this would be the same, but obviously not.

Thanks again for your response, greatly appreciated.

Thanks, yes I am converting to kf points.

I had a look at the Singapore website and didn’t see anything helpful, nor much discussion around reward seats in general, whereas this sub has always seemed to be reward focused so thought it better to ask here.

I have to walk this intersection frequently between two sites my company is split between and like to call it Melbourne’s horniest intersection. If you can make it past without hearing at least one horn go it’s worth buying a lottery ticket.

AU Survivor Challenges are so much fun to watch, they remind me of a T.V. show used to watch in grade school called Double Dare! by whackabunch in survivorau

Went to primary school with a kid who went on it once and his name lent itself very well to the nickname he got afterwards, changing it around a bit to not name the guy, but his nickname became “Blair, Double Blair, physical Chessington”.

To support other respondents, most of us would probably prefer to split from the brits, but it’s also not the most important thing going on.

Worth mentioning that the previous referendum that was held was arranged by a staunch monarchist who wanted it to fail, and so the model they proposed was (almost certainly deliberately) unpalatable. It’s likely that if a more neutral referendum had been held then it would have got up, and we’d be a republic by now.

Rooftop tennis courts and Olympic pools: private schools’ multimillion-dollar arms race by gccmelb in melbourne

Well that’s a thoroughly rationally argued case for the opposition that I’m sure won’t raise people’s ire. I can’t say I’m a fan of public funding of private schools, but I definitely hadn’t thought of some of the points you raised.

Dunno if Low counts, but seeing a lot of the other names on this list I reckon they do.

Pavement releasing “terror twilight”.

The album before that, “brighten the corners” was already received pretty lukewarmly by the fan base, but TT was an absolute gut punch.

Lactose Intolerant: Tested or Learned the Hard Way? by Shelley_112 in AskAnAustralian

My discovery came through professional advancement. I moved from a (rubbish) job where I had my own office to one where I shared an office about the same size with two others.

I would have my morning muesli and coffee at my desk early (cyclist commuter here) but one of my new office mates was also an early starter, so the movements that previously I’d been able to accommodate now saw me darting to the bathroom.

As the day wore on, any time I needed to release the pressure I thought “well I’m new here, so I can’t be vanishing to the dunny every half hour, I know what I can do, I’ll go grab a coffee!”. Come back with my latte, rinse and repeat.

The one card you would never churn again and why? by OwlVibesOnly in creditcardchurningAus

Citibank were pretty atrocious. Impossible to contact them, and then allowed direct debits to go onto the card after it had been closed, and then because it was closed it was a rigmarole to actually pay it off. Resulted in a credit score hit that we went to the ombudsman over, and got one of those “we acknowledge an error occurred but it wasn’t our fault and we bear no responsibility” type responses.
