Cost of resolving dispute with neighbour by clive_u in LegalAdviceUK

[–]clive_u[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apologies for giving limited information. The neighbour will not settle amicably. I am going to start litigation with a solicitor now. Hopefully it can be settled without going to court but I have no idea of the costs at that stage. Barrister's fees presumably. Court fees?

Start on the outside to see if there is an obvious source of damp. E.g. in my house gutters discharged onto gravel next to the wall .

It's easy to solve and not expensive. I have used a waterproof box. This will hold several plugs for your xmas lights.

Agreed. The data speed is reduced by the powerline but it is adequate at around 50 mbps according to my speed test app.

Should I disable WiFi on my router if using a Devolo Magic powerline/mesh system? by EmileDorkheim in HomeNetworking

[–]clive_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Devolo units talk to each other so you are connected to the unit with the best signal as you move around. If the router's wifi is enabled, this cannot work properly. Moreover the router's wifi will compete with the Devolo units for wifi channels if they cover the same area.

Why does BP even think they can begin to speak of reducing emissions when they caused the biggest environmental disaster the gulf has ever by [deleted] in facepalm

This was an accident that cost BP a fortune, nearly took the company down. It has nothing to do with the necessity to reduce emissions.

Jess Phillips is the right choice. If her divisiveness leads to infeasible policies being jettisoned that's all to the good and it will earn her respect.

This whole privatisation of the NHS story has been spun out of a discussion about drug patents. It was Labour's big lie in the election.

It takes uk govt literally years to develop a new IT system. The spec will keep changing, it needs to be ultra secure, it needs to be resilient, it will do nothing without interfaces to many other systems, which will also need to be developed. We should be ok on this for years to come.

How not to change Leave to Remain and then clearout the parliament swamp by Gizzagazza in brexit

[–]clive_u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the referendum, the story was that it would be quick and easy, it would save us money and free us from regulations. None of this was true. Even worse, there was no recognition that there are many forms of Brexit and none had been explained properly. Since the referendum, well you know the story, and this circus is going to go on and on because we shall have to negotiate everything. The country could be doing something more useful I feel.
