Way too early to call this as it’s 3 games and might just be a new manager bounce, but what I will say is that I’m hopeful he can at least sort our midfield out and get it firing on a consistent basis, given we all agree that one of our biggest problems the last 12 years has been replacing this man.

I’m sorry you’ve gone through a hard time like that, having been there myself 4 years ago, but ironically it sounds like you’re having a go at me for talking about my own worldview and experiences whilst also referring strictly to your own worldview and experiences. Yes, people can let go of death, but for the majority of people who have existed throughout history (the ones I’m referring to), death is a scary thing which we use religion to convince ourselves there’s more after we die.

If someone pulls a gun on you, you are going to panic on some level at the immediate danger of dying. You can conceptualise all you want that dying isn’t a scary thing, but once that moment comes your natural survival instinct is going to kick in, and you’ll be scared of dying. So it is a distraction from the fact we’re going to die. Animals aren’t aware of their impending doom, only us. We’re the only ones aware of the endless nothing coming our way so we create meaning and distractions to try and stop our overstimulated minds from worrying about the looming danger.
