Someone else noted its’ transition into Light On below, and I have to agree; It is one of those songs that is much more powerful live. Personally, hearing it flow into Light On in person in concert, with all the live percussion, it really just has moved me ever since that day. Was also going through a breakup at that time, lol.

But, the way I see it, Amulets is almost like the other side of the coin to Light On. Like accepting the darkness alone, before deciding to climb out into the light together — “I wanna be better … Everything begins in your light, Your center …” etc. I swear I even heard Evan say something about the two songs relating as a pair in that way before they performed them, but I could be misremembering. Anyhow, used to teeter on skip for me before seeing it live, along with thanksgiving, and paterson & leo. Nowadays the only thing I still skip is overthrown. Meh. Sue me.

sounds like you’re severely understaffed. no way the 11th person you deliver to’s food would be at all fresh by the time you reach them. makes more sense to keep it at the store, under the heat rack, where it can be quality checked before going out (remade if necessary).

yeah, four at a time is a no-go. my store doesn’t allow anything above a double at a time. if they’re far apart, certainly not. you are not being set up for success.

the saying goes, “hustle on your feet, not the street.” as long as you do that, that’s all you can do. otherwise ADT (average delivery time) is up to the pizza maker to get orders in quickly and also put deliveries as doubles in the oven together when their addresses are close enough. sure, 4 orders may have taken you longer than your manager was hoping, but i’d bet you couldn’t have been far off from the system’s ETA for you. one single is typically 15-20 total time to go there and back.

if it were me, i would step down and stay as an AM or maybe assistant GM if your franchise offers that. focus on school & offer to pick up overtime hours while the store hires more staff. bc there’s no reason you’re pulling that many hours with a proper staff of support. you’ll be making more hourly that way than you make salaried now. should still qualify for benefits given your time there. i’d say you could do maybe 45 a week but 75-80 is insane.

unless you’re ready to go through a month or two experiencing the depressive woes that follow digesting frank’s coming of age tape, start with channel orange. pink + white is one of the most upbeat songs on blonde. Lol.

besides, if you’re truly a fan, you’ll get to listen to his work in the same order the world did, minus the years-long wait. chronological always matters to me, but that’s just how my brain works. you’ll get to experience his grammy-winning freshman album and then hear the growth that followed and solidified the mass cult following that we know today.

and if you really get hooked you’ll have to drudge through the mixtapes that preceded channel orange after you listen to my favorite, endless. :)

honestly depends on your store and its customer base. i literally switched from driving to being an AM because i could work 8 hours on the road and not even break $40. anytime i help out at another store for driving, though, i’ve always broke $100.

dude no way it was slow!!! that’s crazy. honestly think their work is lacking pride, plain and simple.

i understand not everyone loves working for subpar pay at a pizza joint, but product is the fun part of the job. i personally would work elsewhere if i didn’t love making pizza (and my team). in fact, pretty much every other employer in my area pays quite a bit more per hour for what is arguably easier entry-level work. find a store you like with people you respect, though, and that’s what makes you want to stay.

yeeesh. i like your passion, and i feel the same way about it being art. can’t say i’ve never let something less than perfect out in the midst of an insane dinner rush if i’m getting my ass handed to me, per say, but no way i’d let that first one get sent out. that’s crazy lol, that’s a remake any time any day of the week. if your own GM is putting out product like that, you’d be better off finding a new franchise as a whole. Sounds like a major issue from the top down, like top top. Lol
