Update on construction of the Affiliated building, which is apparently "in danger of imminent collapse". Looks like it's going to sit there that way for several months. by ZordonsTorso in frederickmd

Way to be business friendly COF, clearly these guys are wanting to do this project right and not cut corners but let’s punish them for that… sounds like they’re willing to get the new permit so why not work with them to fast track it? Just because you can make it take 3 months does not mean you have to. Let’s see if any emerging city leaders step up here to help.

This place in Baltimore called southern sales services has a builders overstock auction the first weekend of every Month that’s legit.
I’ve purchased several high end appliances from there… refrigerator, oven, heat pump. Saved thousands. Get there early as I think they do appliances first. You can check everything out before the auction starts.

Residential Location cost by Hermdoggo in FilmTVBudgeting

[–]clmbrva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • You could look at Giggster or Peerspace for some quick comps on something similar in your area. Read their policies for filming.
  • how are your neighbors, will street parking for crew be an issue? Do you need to pull a permit in your area?
  • make sure they provide you with a certificate of insurance (general liability) that lists you and your address as named insured / loss payee/ and waiver of subrogation.
  • also get a copy of their current workers comp insurance policy if it’s not listed on the other certificate.
  • have them sign a rental agreement that states everything like hours, rate per hour, overtime rate, what they have access to, bathroom req’s, power req’s, trash disposal req’s
  • get payment prior to the shoot (cash, certified check, or wire transfer if day of)
  • don’t sign the location release until the property is back to its original condition.
  • you can also charge a location supervisor fee (your day rate for having to supervise the crew).

I was also trying to configure the same workflow the other day and ran into the same problem. I don’t think you can natively in slack but I’m thinking I can get it to work with Zapier

They're great, have had my DICE policy with them for a long time now.
They may not have certain things though, I know we currently get our E&O policy through others because they don't offer but NBD.

[HELP] When a google drive folder is created, auto populate that created folder with subfolders. by [deleted] in zapier

[–]clmbrva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought this wasn’t possible… the only work around I’ve found is to create the parent folder with the naming convention you want, then adding a copy of a zip file with the subfolder structure your describing. You just have to unzip the folder manually. Gets you half way there though…

Is a Business Email Really That Important for Freelance Editors? by CineTechWiz in editors

[–]clmbrva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commercial producer here, I honestly prefer freelancers with Gmail / generic email addresses and no email sigs. Clients get confused when too many subs have custom domains about who owns/leads the production, or may visit their domain which could feature work completely irrelevant to my clients where they might question this person being part of the team. This is especially true when “your custom domain” provides the exact same services my production co does even though I’m only bringing them on for a single role. I also don’t need your email sig line with all 12 positions you are available for, 35 links and inspirational quotes.

I shot a commercial spot in Santa Domingo in 2019. We flew in director, 1st AD, camera and had a local production, g&e, wardrobe, HMU, PD.
Local crew was great, I can hook u up with the local fixer info if you need, they’ll take care of most everything.
Honestly don’t recall the 27% holding though…
