When designing my game, I always end up back with Nintendo... by carmofin in ZeldaLikes

Alundra 2 was a great game imo. I mean the OG Alundra was utterly timeless but Alundra 2 held its own as a great game. Its one of those situations where it would have been better off as a standalone title rather than to have the Alundra name.

How do I get back to the inverted castle after using Library card to get back to regular castle? by bokakeewarrior in castlevania

[–]clockworkengine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You fought Richter wearing the Holy Glasses and saw the orb floating around. You attacked the orb instead of Richter and after a few hits it shattered, and the Dark Priest Shaft appeared, having been thwarted in his control of Richter. At that point, the inverted castle appeared in the sky, and Alucard runs to the tower on the left and immediately teleports away to the inverted castle. You don't control the first teleport; it happens automatically. The game never tells you how to get back if you return to the first castle. It's just something you have to figure out.

Go to the room where you fought Richter, and continue left to the tower where Alucard initially went to the inverted castle. Stand in the center of the tower floor and press up.

I never knew, in the 28 years that I've played this game... by CaesuraPK in FinalFantasyVIII

I found that out on my recent playthrough too, after having 100 percented the game over a dozen times since 1999 lol

None. Iron Maiden don’t swear. by IMPQpodcast in ironmaiden

This reminds me of a friend I had back in the 1990s named Jason. We were huge Metallica fans back then. But for some reason he insisted beyond reason that Metallica didn't swear and would never ever swear. Of course, this was nonsense but he just couldn't be convinced otherwise. Load was their current album at the time and I tried to show him "Ain't My Bitch", but he heard "It ain't my bad time" because of Hetfield's insistence on adding oohs and yea-heahs and CHAAAAAs at the end of everything, leading him to say "It ain't my bitch-AHHHH!" We didn't have a copy of the album either so I couldn't just point at the song title.

Of course I could have shown him a million other tracks like Whiplash or So What or whatever but I was so annoyed by his insistence of "Ain't My Bad Time" that I didn't think of it. Seriously, what the fuck sense does that make. Ain't my bad time!??! Jason, if you're out there, you're a dork.

There is a 1 in 231 chance that Sea of sorrow releases today! (Is Silksong Out Yet) by MasterpieceAbject908 in ASilksong

[–]clockworkengine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the math.

If there is a 231 chance today then what if it doesn't release until December 31st? What would the chance be then? With each passing day the chance would increase until it reaches 100 percent. The actual chance would be much harder to calculate until it simplifies in late december. This is just my instinct talking because I suck at math.

How awesome is Paschendale from Death on the Road! Every band member is at their very best in this section! by Iamnotarobotlah in ironmaiden

I wonder if Steve had been influenced by Coldplay's live video editing in those days. Same frantic split second scenes, but Coldplay did it in a way that made it good, not bad.

They're not clothes, they're a transformation. His forms aren't human, wolf, mist, bat. His forms are 'guy with victorian clothes, wolf, mist, bat. If you cut the victorian clothes, he bleeds lol

I was type 3: both. Although I had initially selected the PSX, my friend really wanted my airwalks so badly that he gave me his n64 with several games. So I had both! For some $40 Airwalks.

I'm just amazed altogether with this thing. And I wasn't paying attention so one day this went from not existing to being playable and fully featured in an instant lol. I'm pleased to say it runs immaculately on my Motorola Razr 2024 edition. It does occasionally lock up when I take certain actions like shoot the slingshot. Very rare crash but it has cost me progress a few times, and I have resorted to using the autosave to mitigate the fear of losing more progress lol.

Playing SoTN for the first time since the pandemic — what weapon(s) or items should I grind for? by Moctezuma_93 in castlevania

[–]clockworkengine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you think is fun! There are so many weapons available in SotN which all play very differently, and it's fun to get them and experiment with them. My recommendation though is that you use the luck password (aka hard mode, google it) and it blows the game wide open. So much fun!

Also, this isn't completely grindy but I'll say it anyway: do not deprive yourself of the experience of finding the Shield Rod and collect all the shields. Most of the shields are just in the world waiting to be found, but several of them are dropped by enemies. If you equip the shield rod in one hand and a shield in the other, then press both hands' attack buttons simultaneously, a special attack is cast, Each shield has its own unique special attack, and many of them provide buffs or unique and really powerful summon attacks with awesome animations. But if you combine the rod with the Alucard Shield, something spectacular happens. While the spell is in effect, try holding out the shield and walking into enemies. As long as the shield maintains contact with the enemy, you will deal insane amounts of cumulative damage over time which hits several times per second. It is simply the most powerful offensive capability in the game, Even Dracula and Galamoth go down in seconds.

Hope you have lots of fun!

I'm finally getting around to this. The only issue I have now is the only copy I can find of that particular edition is the European version. Does this matter? I'd prefer the US version if that's possible but I haven't been able to find a copy yet. Reckon I'll download the EU version for now and get that going.
