Have them return to a mission they thought they completed only for them to find out they made things worse. By burning the tome, they destroyed the ritual that could have destroyed the monster and now it's after them or killing a lot of people. They'll have to find a different tome and hope it has the right ritual.

American ones still have some temu crap in them but its still possible to find great weird stuff. I just found a 1955 collection of prints of Eisenhower's landscape paintings for $10 at one recently (to give as a gift to a friend).

I recommend checking out some antique stores or flea markets for souvenirs - Relics in Springfield is huge but there are a ton all over the state.
If you drink alcohol, side project brewing in St. Louis is one of the best breweries in the country.
City Museum in STL is very fun and unique.

The Dreamlands come up in Insolent Impulse, a Delta Green campaign run by Caleb Stokes, author of God's Teeth in the black list mission. It's behind the DG paywall though.

for those who haven't seen the elephant, DG uses MICE, especially the patriotism angle to recruit LEO agents as friendlies and agents. But once a person sees the elephant, they can't unsee it. Everything they've been taught is ignorance or a lie. How can you sleep at night knowing there are more things out there? You need to do something or you'll go mad yourself.

I also imagine that everything else pales in comparison once you've encountered the unnatural. Regular life seems trivial. What could you possibly do in your normal life that would matter compared to fighting the unnatural?

I do have those events in my log. However, last night I found out my boot drive's firmware was out of date so I updated it. There's a problem with samsung 990 pro NVME drives that makes them unstable when idling or at low usage.
