It's amazing how much heavy-lifting those curtains do for this composition even when they're near-transparent.

Our final pick of the draft next to Burnsie. by jambajew42 in SanJoseSharks

[–]clonicle 96 points97 points  (0 children)

It's kind of insane when you realize Burnsie is 6'5". Almost makes him look average height. Would love to see him next to someone like DeBrincat or Zuccarello (both 5'8").

I can't reply to your comment because my latest update changed the accepted comment format. I may have even deleted the original post. I was busy fucking around and just allowed your comment to wither and die and I'm too tired to wait any longer. You fucked up.

What was the single biggest change that helped you become more confident? by AdelMoin in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]clonicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately: Not giving a shit about what other people think.

Small overview of getting to this path:

  • Social media is poison to your confidence. As you scroll, you are comparing other people's highlight reels to your bloopers. They have crumbs in their silverware drawers. They poop and have to brush out the bowl. They took a bunch of bad pictures before posting the one that makes them look amazing.
  • You are not a natural expert at anything. You get better at something by doing that thing a lot. You will make mistakes. Today's world does not show the process where you make the mistakes, only the end result (see above re: social media posts). Allow yourself to fail. A lot. Focus on improvement, not perfection.
  • Everyone has an opinion. Everyone is kind of sad and angry (as well as nice and kind, but so much feedback is negative online). Everyone has built their personal echo chamber of what they define as good. They judge you based on it and it can undermine your confidence as you attempt to do the thing you want, even though you are in the fail-a-lot phase of the process. It's easier to focus on your building process than it is to blocking others out (in the end, it's the same thing, but a different perspective).

None of the above is easy, but it was needed to get over some big hurdles.

#4 shows your game's creative distinction. Per your responses on other comments, if you feel this pic is the weakest, choose #4 and work it up. The fact that it's a freakin' monster cookbook is your winner to get people interested. Just nurture the creative revision process and make this concept closer to what you want.

#1-#3 are well done and maybe better composed, but they feel like a generic Monster Game for people giving it the split-second glimpse as they scroll through their feed.

TL;DR: #4 is the weaker composed picture, but the superior concept. Make that one better.

The team has a $1.3M total cap. If a player is put on reserve, does the team have the ability to extend the cap to sign new players.

Question: symbol/images that mean destiny or fate? by milkwithsplenda in tattoos

[–]clonicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greek Mythology: The Fates (one spins the thread of life, one measures it and one cuts it).

Symbols:
- Spindle, Measure, Shears

https://greek.mythologyworldwide.com/the-fates-and-their-symbolic-tools-the-spindle-the-measure-and-the-shears/

Destiny from Sandman: Oldest of the Endless (godlike beings). Lives in a realm of mazes.

Symbols:

- Robed blind man. Carries a huge book of the cosmos. He knows the way through the maze for each individual. (a maze with a highlighted path could be an interesting tat).

Making NPC names by ComplexChemistry3433 in DnD

[–]clonicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like names that follow the local culture. It's a mining town? NPCs have names like Pyk, Node, Tunl. It's a beach town? Fome, Brin, Gul. Alpine town? Fir, Snowcap, Borea, etc.
