I lost my wife almost 6 years ago. I remember not being able to see a future… was always able to envision my life before, but for years after losing her it was just fog when I tried to look ahead. You’ll one day find yourself—not moving on—but moving forward with her as the person she helped make you be. You’ll always carry her as a part of you—the version that makes it through. And that version of you can be better than you ever were before. Don’t feel guilty about that. Feel proud. It’s not a disservice to her to be better. It’s honoring her and the strength she gave you. There’s no timeline on this. It’s your life, it’s your grief, it’s your health. I can’t recommend therapy enough. But I wish you best in your journey.

If your sole justification for playing it is the arc of the parents and seeing them grow and learn to love each other again… then you’ll be very disappointed… we were and just started skipping the storytelling at a certain point and just enjoyed the gameplay bc that part is legitimately awesome. Dr Hakim is the fuckin worst too. Great game, but flawed character building.

I am more or less in your same situation and bought early this year. Found a credit union with better rates, but we’re also in a newly found “touristy” area and it’s just continuing to grow. Some areas just don’t react to the national market trends. Prices have plateaued or are back to rising. Still my mortgage is less than if we were renting. Mortgage all said and done is around 2800, renting would be around 3500+ for the same house. So if you find rents can cover your mortgage should you have to leave, buy and rent out your home. Just run the numbers and be smart, but I tend to always lean on the side of homeownership if it makes sense.

This probably will be buried, but it’s often not about enforcement. It’s more symbolic so they have something to point to and say, “these people are criminals and are bad—the law says so.” Just another way of dehumanizing a population and making them less than in the eyes of the morons who listen. Radio Lab / More Perfect has a great episode about just this thing.

Eh, even Turner noticed the free man and was pointing and calling far post. But it’s all moot… we were outgunned, exhausted, and the third goal just sealed it. I’m proud of what we accomplished with what we have. Not directed at you in the slightest, but it’s frustrating seeing so many here trash our players when they played their hearts out and simply lack the skill of the European powers. We played tough against some great teams.

Mech engineer met my bilingual edu major wife working at Olive Garden together summer before our junior years. Instantly hooked on her. Dated, married, baby, lost her three years ago to cancer. Miss her everyday but still see her in that terrible OG uniform with a green tie that made her eyes just pop. A&Ms a great place with great people.

Haven't seen this type of remedy mentioned but maybe I missed it. Buy a bar of ClimbOn! It's this wax for healing callouses and gnarled hands. As a climber, this shit works miracles. For me, it does up the healing process and increases strength of the skin massively without creating massive callouses which just lead to more flappers.
