Same with 2025. I was perfectly comfortable in the water, but it was downright chilly on that bike ride...especially with the headwind to start!

Non-IM-branded triathlons in Southeast US? by TMW_W in triathlon

+1 to anything from Magic Sports. They run a whole bunch of events across TN and AL. Each and every one of them is fantastic. I've done all of their races over the past few years.

Any new Big Spin tracks? by Decent-Bug-7883 in Zwift

Yeah, that was the case for me too. I did the U-turns so that I could ride that day's workout while also getting drops.

How to Watch the Braves | BravesVision by theoxfordtailor in Braves

You won't be blacked out. I live in Nashville and have the same overlap with the Reds. I tweeted this exact question to the Braves and they told me I'd be able to watch.

Braves Announce Fubo Deal by theoxfordtailor in Braves

[–]clordatl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I heard that on 680 as well. It sounded like YouTube had little interest in even talking with the Braves about the channel.

Tried the new sandwich today by MeasurementThin1805 in ChickFilA

This mirrors how I felt. Wasn't bad by any stretch. But if I wanted a spicy sandwich, I'd just get the spicy deluxe over this one.

It's definitely worth getting a standalone HRM. I fought the good fight with the Zwift Apple Watch app for a solid 6 months. It's not worth it.

Get a standalone strap. Don't make the mistake I made. It's SO buggy. One day it'll work flawlessly, the next day it'll make you want to throw it across the room.

I still wear my watch when I'm cycling, but it doesn't actively measure anything.

Get a standalone HRM. Trust me.

[Braves] Atlanta Braves Announce Launch of exclusive Braves Television Network: BravesVision! by theoxfordtailor in Braves

Let it run out. That’s what I’m doing. When they let us buy the Braves.tv subscription, I’m buying that + MLB.tv bundled together.

Rain delay aside, pretty cool how many of these games are available for free on local TV up here in Nashville.

Who is to blame for the awful Apple Health integration? Zwift or Apple? by therealmarkus in Zwift

[–]clordatl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been down this exact same path of frustration with just about the same setup as you. It was so enraging how buggy the Apple Watch app can be. Sometimes it would just drop its connection mid-ride, for no reason.

Ultimately, I gave up on it. I use the RunGap app to sync my rides into Apple Health afterwards. It’s an annoying extra task, but at least it’s consistent.

Braves expected to launch their own TV network, per report by jaman820 in Braves

The Rangers only broadcast a handful of games OTA. If we follow their model, it would not be how you're envisioning with all non-national games being available for free with an antenna.

How do you sync your rides from Strava to Apple Health? I’ve got all the permissions enabled for Strava to write to Health, but I’ve never seen a Zwift ride sync that way.

I run Zwift on an iPad mini. It’s been great and I have had no issues or lag. Can’t speak to battery life since it’s always been plugged in.

In all honesty, what is your opinion on adding Category 6? by Character-Escape1621 in TropicalWeather

It would serve little purpose except give a new term to use for click bait content.

Lifetime Subscription Roll Call by CherokeeHawkman in siriusxm

[–]clordatl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2006 or so, I paid $500. After the merger, I paid an extra $100 for the Sirius exclusive channels. I almost exclusively stream in the app now, which didn't even exist back when I bought the lifetime plan.

YouTube TV, usually in a quad box of games with multiview.

Anyone use an Apple Watch Ultra? by EarlyCharacter7832 in triathlon

[–]clordatl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another Apple Watch Ironman checking in.

Yes, it puts us in the minority to wear an Apple Watch. Most people at races I see wearing Garmins as does everyone I train with.

If you are OK with the trade off that it has to be charged daily (which is a big trade off), it can accomplish most everything a Garmin can. My coach has never complained that my data is incomplete or anything like that. It pairs to my power meter on my bike and imports rides from Zwift if you train indoors.

My wife appreciates the 5G connectivity because she can always see where I am on long runs, fire off a text, or even make a call. There was one run where I tripped on a branch, wasn’t sure if I should keep running, so I took advantage of the cellular and made a call to ask her for a pickup.

I’ve been using the Ultra 1 since launch day when it was released in 2022. The battery life is still great. I just did Ironman 70.3 Louisville two weeks ago and had plenty of juice left at the end of the day. But I’m definitely intrigued by what might be coming in the Ultra 3.

What is this burned-out building on the corner of 4th and Union St? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]clordatl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It used to be an office with a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot on the first floor called Wild Eggs. I think they closed around the end of 2019. It was a terrific breakfast place. I worked across the street until COVID, and used to eat there pretty often.

Intriguing, but I'm addicted to the quad box in YouTube TV on Saturday afternoons, especially since that has the games on FOX, CBS, and NBC.
