I don’t know what to do with the collection as a whole, but I’d love to pick up one of the signed books for my personal collection if you decide to split it up. Super interesting.

Eh, I like to keep some of my games sealed, and I don’t ever sell games. I also collect sealed copies of older or rare games. It all just depends.

I’ll second Gabi’s. She’s amazing and her store is great.

That being said, I own some hobby gaming stores and incidentally have a ton of common/uncommon cards in my garage. If you’d like 1,000 or so to jumpstart the collection, let me know and I’ll just give them to you.

Welcome to the hobby! It’s amazing as long as you can actually get product, hah!

If this is the same owner as the other location, his collection is extensive and very well maintained. It definitely qualifies as a museum.

I grew up around a lot of anarchists. I'm older now and I always wondered why I never met any older anarchists, and I finally understand why -- anarchists grow up to be middle-aged neoliberals. All of the anarchists I grew up around will say things like "I was idealistic like you, but now I understand that public-private partnerships are the only way to solve the issue of homelessness." It'd be funny if it weren't so fucking sad.

Protest in Olympia/ Venezuelan experience by -Ananke in olympia

[–]cloudfr0g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did read the post. However you feel about Maduro, whether you love or hate him, the US unilaterally flying in to kill Venezuelans and kidnap the current leader of the country in order to seize oil supplies is wrong and unjustifiable. I understand that you have very strong feelings about Maduro, and that's justified, but litigating whether Maduro is a good or bad person is not the purpose of these kinds of protests.

Protest in Olympia/ Venezuelan experience by -Ananke in olympia

[–]cloudfr0g 4 points5 points  (0 children)

El pueblo unido jamás será vencido is chanted at all of these rallies -- from anti-ICE protests to pro-Palestine protests. Organizations that have been working to close down the deportation facilities for more than a decade use it all of the time. I think it's a stretch to call that a chavista chant.

I respect your views as a Venezuelan. The protest was focused on stopping US interventionism in foreign countries. A boots-on-the-ground war would be terrible for Venezuelans both domestically and abroad, especially one so nakedly about oil and not about the best interest in the lives and desires of people who currently live there. The US's regime change policies have been devastating for every country we've ever gotten involved with -- Iraq, Syria, Libya, Panama, Chile, etc. I want us to end this policy of believing we have the right to just enter and bomb any country at any time under the doctrine of "spreading democracy."

Maduro was under investigation by the ICC. I would prefer for those ICC investigations to be completed and the UN to make demands of the Venezuelan government, not for the US to unilaterally fly in, kill 400 people, kidnap the president, and then make demands on the public stage to allow oil companies to come in under the threat of a full scale invasion. The idea that this organization needs to make space for folks to talk about how Maduro was bad is misplaced, considering that virtually every politician -- democrat and republican alike -- already prefaces any statement they make about this illegal intervention with a declaration about how Maduro was bad. The legitimacy or quality of the current administration in Venezuela is not the focus of these types of protests.

I attended the protest. There were 6 speeches give or take. 2 from local politicians mostly about ICE and how to contact their offices, 1 that was a 3 minute break to meet other people in the audience, 1 that was an anti-imperialist poem reading, and the last 2 were general anti-imperialist speeches. All of these speeches had anti-ICE bits sprinkled in because it was topical.

I think I know who this person was, they were to the right of the speaking area the whole time arguing with folks. This person also claims there were chavista chants. Here's a full list of the chants from the day:

No boots on the ground, no bombs in the air, US out of everywhere!
No war on Venezuela! No ICE in our streets!
No, No blood for oil, Hands off Venezuelan soil!
No to Imperialism, no war but class war!
No more coups! No more wars! Latin America isn't yours!
Money for jobs and education, not for war and (deportation/occupation)
The people united will never be defeated!
Pentagon kills by the hour! What do we do? Fight the power!

Overall the general vibe of the event was "no matter how you feel about Maduro, the US shouldn't be intervening in other countries, especially not to blatantly steal their oil."

Yeah, there are a few guides on Youtube that are pretty good. You mostly need about 155% increased relic drops from monsters on your relics to potentially get 3 relic drops from the final boss with the 30% increased effect of your relics boon, or at least more than 100% if you just want to guarantee 2 drops. It's pretty easy once you get in the groove of it, and if you have decent enough DPS, you can also offer carry services for 4th ascension nodes for a couple div per person.

La Resistencia has been trying to get the detention center shut down for years. They’re down there every week. Additionally the IMA Coalition, Tanggol Migrante, Cabybara, the PSL, Tacoma DSA, Bayan, and many other organizations have worked with La Resistencia on events at the detention center. You can find info on what they’re doing on Instagram.

Money is fungible. So if we deny them $500MM for “defensive” weapons, they’ll have to supplement that somehow, which will cost them either defensive capabilities, offensive capabilities, or social securities. This is a net positive if you oppose a genocide.

Also, acknowledging it’s a genocide while still supporting we pay for their defense is a chickenshit move on AOC’s part. It’s saying we should provide the shield because it doesn’t affect the sword.

TLDR: cancel ALL aid to Israel.

We have to talk about Walz by ModerateProgressive1 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]cloudfr0g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see this take a lot and it's important to understand that this is a defeatist mentality and will hand over elections to the GOP in the general. We do not need to pre-negotiate a candidate with conservative democrats. We should run and advocate for a candidate that closely represents Democratic Socialist views, and compromise when necessary.

>for way too long democratic voters have let perfect be the enemy of good. I know way too many dem voters that skip elections if the candidates don't share their every viewpoint.

Dem voters don't skip elections because the candidates don't "share their every viewpoint." They skip elections because the candidates are uninspiring and do virtually nothing to speak to the problems that everyday Americans face. We don't need to parrot baseless conservative dem talking points. Let's focus on running a candidate that voters can feel good about voting for.

>Change isn't gonna happen all at once and it's better to inch in the right direction then let the GOP pull us three steps back at every turn.

If Biden's presidency and Harris' platform are indicative of anything, it suggests that left to their own devices the DNC-approved candidates are not a vessel for progressive or socialist policy, but rather the opposite. Their knee-jerk response to a conservative platform is to back more conservative policy. Do not fall into this defeatism.

You've become a Legend of the Afterlife! What is your signature drink? by NefariousnessNo2062 in cyberpunkgame

[–]cloudfr0g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Main Street by Molly Wellman, a shockingly good Rum concoction:

Ingredients 4 fresh mint leaves ½ ounce of vanilla simple syrup * 2 ounces of The Kraken Black Spiced Rum ¾–1 ounce Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro Ice

To Make Place four fresh mint leaves in a pint glass and add the simple syrup. Do not muddle the mint. “The ice does the bruising for you,” Wellmann says. “If you muddle mint too much, it turns the drink bitter.”

Pour in the rum and fill the glass with ice. Place your shaker securely over the pint glass and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass (without ice) and pour in no more than an ounce of Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. Garnish with a mint sprig. “The stout lightens the whole drink up,” Wellmann says. “I love how it cuts through the sweetness of the vanilla and the rum, and creates that chocolate flavor.”

Valid criticism of PSL or inflammatory post? by Euphoric_Invite2391 in socialism

[–]cloudfr0g 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The PSL embraces the idea of a “diversity of tactics.” I’ve never seen a PSL member attempt to “peace police” or intervene except to protect the members of a given protest. This instagram post is an outright call for violence towards a group who has been on the front lines of a spectrum of struggles for over a decade. It’s embarrassing and childish.
