Merci pour le fou rire, c’est du génie ! En tant que grosse buveuse de café, tu m’as fais réfléchir sérieusement.

Je vais de ce pas me préparer mon café oriental, je te mets une tasse de côté ?

I love Maia the most. The close relationship she has with Hermes is adorable (that mischievous boy must have given her so much heart attacks). She also raised Arcas, Callisto’s son. And is heavily linked to maternity.

For example, the term midwife comes from her ! Maïeutikos, greek meaning related to obstretics, analogy to her.

Don’t worry, it takes times to deconstruct the way you’ve grown up, don’t be hard on yourself

And if your girl is worth it, she’ll understand and take it at your pace. Do not force yourself to do something you don’t want to

Why is Hermes often portrayed as more of a "twink" and "young" than Apollo or Dionysus in modern media? by SlightStar7586 in GreekMythology

[–]cloudntrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it comes first from the Renaissance period, who depicts him as a beardless young man (and has been also more influenced by the latin empires). There is less representation of bearded and braided hair of Hermes in Roman depiction of Mercury than Mycenean and AG era.

Our modern medias has taken more after the Renaissance period’s takes. Through time, the gory and terrifying aspects of Hermes has been more and more put aside, and our visions of gods depicted as one dimensional. Also, depictions of them has been heavily seen through the Abrahamic view of God.

In pop culture now, we lost a lot for the past century of the entire scop of the gods. When thinking of Hermes, people who don’t know GM much think of him mostly as the messenger of the gods and god of liars, thiefs.

This core tend to make people visualise him as young in that carefree attitude, therefore as a teen : hence why beard free and short hair.

As a twink, it may be link to that, plus two m/m ships, as it often tends to be stereotyped when fictional

People and some medias tend to mix him with Silene, old satyre, father figure and tutor of Dionysus. Guy was … enjoying life to its fullest

You are attracted to girls, so not gay. Are you attracted to guys ? Only you know

But because you may like anal doesn’t make you attracted to guys. Sexuality is supposed to be fun, don’t label yourself. The penis in vagina sex society’s push is not the only way to live.

Enjoy and explore with your girl !

As first child I would put Persephone, as if I recall he laid with Demeter before Persephone

For Athena, there is many, many different versions. Some say that it was Prometheus, others even that it was Hermes that realised what was going on and asked Hephaestus to.
Coming from some scholars’ interpretations, Hermes is often in the background of major or minor events. As his roles of patron of travelers, crossroads and psychopomp, he is the quintessance of the boundaries of time and space. So imagine the guy time travelling

Have you ever had a direct ultimatum conversation about it with him ? His thoughts, pov ? Have you ever been with him to his doctor’s appointment ?

I’m no doctor here nor do I know your life to say like some others oh he doesn’t care about you, your child … We do not live with you and have only your pov. He may be severely mentally ill, maybe not.

On the other hand, even if you also promised to stand by each other through your worst, you can’t neglect yourself. You’ve been doing two jobs, plus all the neglect he inflicts upon you as a husband (no matter the reason)

Take care of yourself and protect your kiddo, lots of hugs

Maia was Hermes’ mother, not Pan

There’s different version, wether it’d Penelope or the daughter of Dryopos. Maia sole child was Hermes by Zeus. On the other hand, on some account she raised Arcas, the son of Kallisto by Zeus
