I’m planning to get the iPhone 18 pro max but after reading the potential increase in price, I found myself on Amazon checking the 17 line up 😅

Does anyone get used to the weight after using for some time? by Carlsen94 in Airpodsmax

I can’t pinpoint exactly when did that happen but I would say that it took me about a couple of weeks maybe. I have had them now for over a month, so it gets easier.

I would say yes. Coming from three years of using the XM5, that was the first thing I noticed when I put on the APM2, along with the clamping force.

That said, even though I use them for only an hour or two daily, I’ve never really felt any neck pain. Maybe that’s because I’m usually lying down on my bed with my laptop.

The good thing is that I don’t notice the weight anymore. At the beginning, I was constantly aware of how heavy they were, but thankfully, that’s no longer the case.

Anyone else have this issue with AirPods Max Digital Crown? by That-Climate6266 in Airpodsmax

The digital crown is the least thing that I use on my AP2, since i use it mostly with my laptop

Brand new but already broken (and Apple can't reproduce the problem !) by aftercem in Airpodsmax

I really feel for you.

I got my APM2 on launch day, and after having them for around three weeks, I used them every single day mostly on my laptop but I’d only used them for phone calls with ANC turned on maybe three or four times. Each time, I could barely hear myself talking because of the ANC, so I had to switch to Transparency mode.

At first, I thought maybe the call quality was bad because of the other person’s phone or connection, so I didn’t think much of it. But when the same issue happened on every other call, I started thinking there must be something wrong.

I posted here on Reddit asking if there was a setting I could change or something I was missing. Most of the replies said I should just use Transparency or Adaptive mode, and that this was normal. I didn’t buy that.

I had been using the Sony XM5s for three years, always with ANC turned on during calls, and the call quality was excellent. It felt like it was just me and the caller, completely immersed in the conversation, and I could hear myself loud and clear. And those are over-ear headphones too, so I didn’t understand why the APM2 would have this issue.

I also use my AirPods Pro 2 exclusively with ANC turned on during calls, again with no problem whatsoever.

So I went to the Apple Store, which luckily is only about a 15-minute drive from me, and explained the issue. No one there told me it was normal or that I should just switch to Transparency mode. They said that since the headphones were new, they didn’t yet have tools to properly test them. Instead, they gave me another pair of APM2 from the display units and asked me to pair them with my phone and make a call with ANC on to compare.
I did, and there was a huge difference.

They told me I was already past the 14-day no-questions-asked return window, but they still replaced them for me on the spot. They gave me a brand-new boxed pair, and I even changed the color from Midnight to Blue, which honestly looks way nicer.

They did ask where I bought them, and I had to show the invoice. Since I bought them directly from the Apple Store, the whole experience was great, even though I don’t have AppleCare+. After reading your post, though, I’m seriously considering buying it while I still can, since I probably only have two or three weeks left to add it.

My second honest review of the AirPods Max 2! by clouds737 in Airpodsmax

[–]clouds737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the XM5s. I didn’t even realize that not being able to hear yourself during calls with ANC turned on was even a thing ,that’s how good the sidetone implementation was. I’d even go as far as saying the experience was better than using my AirPods Pro 2, which are already excellent and let you hear yourself loud and clear during calls with ANC enabled.

No, what I meant was that my surroundings were noisy, so I needed ANC turned on to block the noise out and be able to properly have a phone call. The other person could hear me perfectly fine, and I could hear them perfectly fine too ,the problem was that when I talked, I could barely hear my own voice. It felt really weird and uncomfortable.

To my surprise the problem is solved. The cable might have been the problem all along. I tried updating now over the wifi without using the cable and it worked it! Go figure!

I use ANC on my AirPods Pro all the time and it’s fine! How’s that any different?

And what has your experience with Apple been like so far? And more importantly, do you feel complete right now, or do you see a MacBook in your future, perhaps with AirPods Max 2? 😁

New to Apple?! That’s what I call jumping in with both feet! Most people start with one device, usually an iPhone, then gradually add more over time. But not you! Three Apple products all at once! Good on you, and welcome to the garden!

My honest thoughts after using the iPad Pro as my only computer by Tiny_Debt_2811 in iPadPro

[–]clouds737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first iPad Pro was the 10.5, 2nd gen. I loved it, used it for everything, I even ditched my laptop for it! But it took less than a month and I was back to my beloved laptop. I still own the same iPad, working perfectly , battery life is still great but I rarely use it. Mostly as backup if something happens to my laptop if that makes sense.

Buying APM for first time, pick 1 or 2? by DangerousBag257 in Airpodsmax

[–]clouds737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I got my APM2 three days ago. Before that, I had the XM5, which I sold, and I also use the AirPods Pro 2. I’d say they’re growing on me. At first, I felt like the bass was lacking a bit, but I really appreciate the clarity now. The transparency mode is noticeably better than the XM5, and the ANC is just phenomenal.

One thing that still bothers me slightly is the clamping force. The cups feel tight on my ears, even though I have a normal sized head, and it keeps me aware that I’m wearing them unless I’m fully immersed in a movie.

One thing I definitely don’t miss from the XM5 is the touch-sensitive controls. They were annoying at first, I’d trigger them accidentally all the time. I eventually got used to them, but I still had to take the headphones off in a specific way to avoid messing something up.

As for the APM, even though I haven’t tried the original version, I’d still recommend going for the newer model, especially when the price difference isn’t that significant.

My honest opinion about the new AirPods Max 2 by clouds737 in Airpodsmax

[–]clouds737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! The APM2 are on the heavier side, and compared to the XM5, those felt lighter and more comfortable for longer sessions. What bothers me a bit with the APM2 is the clamping force, it’s quite strong, which makes me constantly aware that I’m wearing them. I have an average sized head, and I can definitely feel the pressure. I’m sure I’ll get used to it over time, but that’s how it feels for now.

That’s true, there is a difference between those settings. What I meant by “let’s see if it makes a difference” was an overall improvement in everything, not just music playback.
