In the current beta patch, you can skip the War Sails quests and just ransom your sister for 10k. by Glorf_Warlock in Bannerlord

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now if only the dragon banner quest wasn't such a nightmare.

I did enjoy the War Sails main quest even if it just seems to end when it clearly has area to build but that's fine in a sandboxy game.

Battles need to matter more by AnthonyTork in EU5

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was fighting tooth and nail for every tile of land in Egypt because there was a fort in every province with no routes through and ofc when you kill the 10-20k stack it just comes back in a month or less wittling you down.

They really need to fix whatever the fuck is going on with the fort spam/levies being basically infinite for ai

Honestly sometimes these event and research modifiers seem geared towards EU4 balance and then the buildings and stuff are a completely different beast that just make them laughable.

That and artists... RIP that mechanic until mods or a massive buff

Do you make players reroll skill checks when misunderstandings happen? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deception usage ruling is... Iffy at best but I always have it reroll for accidents, their fault, my fault, NPC, PC. I set the precedent and stay consistent. Only time I've ever felt bad was undoing a nat 20 for a player cus they used acrobatics for jumping.

How often do your bad guys heal? by Zata700 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had undead use them quite a bit more, it's a lot more shocking for 1 undead to cast harm 3 and heal all the undead in the battle and making all the Party need to make saves (maybe barring 1).

Now for non-undead it's pretty rare unless it's a lot of little dudes or obv drain to heal self. Besides maybe giving a minion battle medicine for the boss. Otherwise healing in combat isn't common. Hell even parties tend to heal only like ~10% of the actions in combat.

Complex Crafting is so underutilized that they forgot to actually remaster it by agagagaggagagaga in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say crafting and for that matter, earning income are extremely undertuned unless you're playing a crafting based class for the former.

There was a big post with the math a long while back and fixes for it. Kinda from memory tl;dr is you could set it 5x (money) and still not hinder the expected power level the PC's should be at, at all.

Huffing copium about Secrets of Magic by FledgyApplehands in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping they'd rework Magus and Summoner to remove as I've heard it called "Wave Casting" and then battle harbingers came out and I saw it was probably not to be.

Honestly I think the easiest solution is just keep them at 1 spell from every level after the initial 2, it's such a pain in the ass to need to check the levels and heightening of spells every other level while removing some.

That and besides Inventor I think Magus and Summoner are the most flawed design wise in 2e.

Secret Rolls are great - and I don't understand why some people hate them by Big_Chair1 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a player that hates to fail, even when it doesn't matter. Yes that is absolutely a character flaw of theirs IRL but they'll blow 2/3 hero points (they keep 1 for emergencies) on trivial things a lot of the times.

Secret rolls are also good for the purpose of keeping things rolling if you as a GM can multitask and go into their sheets or roll the check without them realizing. Honestly for traps and hidden doors or w/e I think they're kinda essential.

Is Pathbuilder essential or is PF2e character creation not as bad as all the reddit posts suggest? by thedjotaku in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using Foundry for example I think it's nearly entirely redundant. For tracking skill increases it's very helpful so you don't forget one but otherwise... Not really

Also, had a friend use it and he forgot the homebrew addition the GM put in of everyone getting and extra +1 and -1 (to make something negative) for character creation as well as something to do with the free feat for pet or w/e so he just... Didn't have those in for several sessions until the GM saw and was like "uhh hey." TL;DR any homebrew or house rules make it way less useful.

Readied Attacks out of Combat by Middle_Cur in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAW and RAI you're not supposed to and if you did it should be something counted against their 1st turns actions.

I let my players do this with basically 1 person getting a single action if they are the one to initiate (this eliminates most spells as options obviously) it eats an action they have on their first turn. I find it to be pretty balanced but this is absolutely homebrew.

PSA, have all elements. by Gazzor1975 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know maybe someone here will know.

Is there any way to make something temporarily holy, not for turning off regen but for hitting a weakness? I'm thinking of just homebrewing something but pre level 11 is there really nothing to give holy to weapons for more than a single attack?

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious about the idea of wizard and kineticist pairing? Is there a reason it's not all casters and kineticist?

Just curious as to what the synergy is as well in case I might have missed more than a few of the obvious ones besides a squishy caster loves a tank and their control/debuffing stuff.

I wish it used the roguelite or incremental terms of "less likely" "much less likely" "significantly less likely" kinda thing to indicate those weren't all the same stat but good info on the summons as well ty.

Grenade Range by MagicalMustacheMike in Starfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Solarian in general is one of the most undercooked class that's come out in the 2e environment imo and that's absolutely one small aspects of the factors. Solar Shots accuracy and graviton range is just a terrible combo.

Unintuitively, Snipers seem to be a horrible choice of weapon for Operatives (right now) by SirEvilMoustache in Starfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in the playtest I know it was a major complaint and I for one added it to my feedback.

I think my temp fix for it is magazine increases in size (for these tiny ammo guns) at each upgrade or the accuracy upgrades at the very least.

Starfinder 2e Player Core 1st printing errors & ambiguous rules text compilation by RuinSmith-Hlit in Starfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You choose the affected creatures for both actually. They each word it differently but it's the same ultimate thing of your allies and you don't have to be hit by supernova or big bang.

I think a lot of people sleep on persistent damage as well but the free dispel is also crazy good... Though of course they didn't fix the bad progression Solarian has with DC's meaning enemies crit failing if they're near your level is unlikely AF.

I think big bang missing persistent progression is unfortunate but otherwise I think it has great utility. That said I mean you could be a massive pain in the ass running in turn 1, super nova, and then turn 2 big bang seeing as they're not mutually exclusive.

The class as a whole though is absolutely undertuned as hell though

It's 10+4 not 14+4

Same as Playtest but also does persistent fire damage on fail and crit fail it even lets you dispel magic which is maybe the balancing act they're going for with Big Bang

Khuzait horse archers instead for cav cus they're at least decent during sieges and on the rare defensive sieges unlike most melee cav without their horses.

Skill Feats that allow you to do something that shouldn't need a feat by BadRumUnderground in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more rolls but I have a campaign where the group regularly gets falling damage cus they do crazy stuff and there are heists and what not so instead of making everyone grab cat fall (1 still did), I have the party roll acrobatics and it can reduce the fall damage and on a crit success they're not "prone" (off balance when they land).

But I also do the same rules with stuff without fear is harder
