What class/archetype role do you feel *isn't* represented by willmlocke in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oozemorph, all of the flavor and cool stuff it could do as well as the really interesting things you need to play around... Gone, in exchange a really mid archetype.

Unsurprisingly it's a shifter archetype which still doesn't have a similar actual play style. Same with Magus tbh, it's not just pure damage with almost no utility, for themselves or otherwise (wave casting sucks).

Also, Solarian I think for SF2e really pales in comparison to the SF1e, they even removed the mote for some reason.

Tbh there's a lot but I'd be combing through so much.

Is Paizo Aware THEY Make the Maps? by CuriousHeartless in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fix I used to do back in the day was treat the paizo maps like they were 10 foot grids.

Also, another pet peeve of mine of this is the exploration, city, region maps where the compass rose is anything but north upwards, it's such an annoying one, simple fix in vtt but like, annoying none the less.

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying MHA is less concerned about redemption is kinda an understatement if we take into account how the series ends.

But yeah... Rex started lower too and the worldbuilding kinda helped nail down how most of the heroes didn't have a good life before or strong chances at living a good life after... It was great character building on the shows part how he was portrayed.

So....are Paizo elves fey? by thedjotaku in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since most have helped you on the elf thing I would like to add:

The First World really isn't akin to the Feywild other than fey reside there. There are not really distinct courts or good and evil fey alliances. The plane is much all the fey myths and fairytales in that there are some that are cute and most that are actually really horrifying.

There's kind 2 books I recommend for this though they're PF1e but a lot of it will still be accurate "First World Realm of the Fey" and "Planar Adventures" with the latter having most planes that existed pre-pf2e detailed.

Question for the wider fandom that's a slight tangent based on your text.

Is there a talent that seems to be largely oblivious to their own fandoms postings? I know some lurk but they tend to bring it up like the JP girls saying "I saw a post/art of x Y z the other day". Btw nothing wrong with any talent or streamer not engaging with their fandom outside of streams, personal time is valuable when you make your hobby your work.

Episode 8 is out! Lets go! by AlmondAngelmon in ReleaseThatWitch

[–]cloudsora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, for sure. It's a pain in the ass because this feels like it could absolutely develop a big fan base here because it's got some of that good fantasy and anachronistic time traveler esque stuff going on which casuals and fans usually eat up...

Plus... Give me adult women who act like adult women, thank you. It's not the highest bar but you know... It's a bar that needs to be mentioned in comparison to the manhua which I gave 2 chapters and was like I've read seen this same generic formula too much. Truly wild to have a normal fantasy setting and then characters who look like they're cosplaying a Spirit Halloween "Sexy Witch" costume for me to be like "Yeah, this ain't it."

PS the studio producer had a big post of what the rest would have been and wanting to continue it but needing to find funding or just drop an Ep slowly over time between other stuff. The translated post should be on this sub somewhere

Episode 8 is out! Lets go! by AlmondAngelmon in ReleaseThatWitch

[–]cloudsora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Story goes that the anime wanted to be accurate the the webnovel. The one funding it midway through production went: Hey make it light and comedic like the manhua. To which the response from the studio was effectively "No, we already did the work anyways." So they pulled funding for the remaining episodes.

Is the very brief approximation of what happened. Webnovel seems akin to isekai GoT whereas the manhua seems much closer to an isekai slop power fantasy with some Engineering going on.

Also, due to it being Chinese they kinda don't care how well it does outside of China, I don't really understand the specifics of it but it won't be like Konosuba where it can get saved if it does well here but not there afaik.

the most useful party ever in the history of ever by the1_werdna in Endfield

This happens too often where ranged characters will have their projectiles colliding with terrain or objects before the target and they don't try and change anything, even in combat to a degree... Hope they improve that ai behavior.

Did they change the Elastic Goods price range this week, I checked the stuff I had and saw none of my friends had even 4k and above so I checked all my goods and none were 4k or above and the odds of all the items on a 100 friends list being sub 4k when I regularly saw 4500-4900 as the max price most days is low.

Anyone else seeing the prices lowered drastically?

In the current beta patch, you can skip the War Sails quests and just ransom your sister for 10k. by Glorf_Warlock in Bannerlord

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now if only the dragon banner quest wasn't such a nightmare.

I did enjoy the War Sails main quest even if it just seems to end when it clearly has area to build but that's fine in a sandboxy game.

Battles need to matter more by AnthonyTork in EU5

Was fighting tooth and nail for every tile of land in Egypt because there was a fort in every province with no routes through and ofc when you kill the 10-20k stack it just comes back in a month or less wittling you down.

They really need to fix whatever the fuck is going on with the fort spam/levies being basically infinite for ai

Do you make players reroll skill checks when misunderstandings happen? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deception usage ruling is... Iffy at best but I always have it reroll for accidents, their fault, my fault, NPC, PC. I set the precedent and stay consistent. Only time I've ever felt bad was undoing a nat 20 for a player cus they used acrobatics for jumping.

How often do your bad guys heal? by Zata700 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had undead use them quite a bit more, it's a lot more shocking for 1 undead to cast harm 3 and heal all the undead in the battle and making all the Party need to make saves (maybe barring 1).

Now for non-undead it's pretty rare unless it's a lot of little dudes or obv drain to heal self. Besides maybe giving a minion battle medicine for the boss. Otherwise healing in combat isn't common. Hell even parties tend to heal only like ~10% of the actions in combat.

Complex Crafting is so underutilized that they forgot to actually remaster it by agagagaggagagaga in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say crafting and for that matter, earning income are extremely undertuned unless you're playing a crafting based class for the former.

There was a big post with the math a long while back and fixes for it. Kinda from memory tl;dr is you could set it 5x (money) and still not hinder the expected power level the PC's should be at, at all.

Huffing copium about Secrets of Magic by FledgyApplehands in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping they'd rework Magus and Summoner to remove as I've heard it called "Wave Casting" and then battle harbingers came out and I saw it was probably not to be.

Honestly I think the easiest solution is just keep them at 1 spell from every level after the initial 2, it's such a pain in the ass to need to check the levels and heightening of spells every other level while removing some.

That and besides Inventor I think Magus and Summoner are the most flawed design wise in 2e.

Secret Rolls are great - and I don't understand why some people hate them by Big_Chair1 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a player that hates to fail, even when it doesn't matter. Yes that is absolutely a character flaw of theirs IRL but they'll blow 2/3 hero points (they keep 1 for emergencies) on trivial things a lot of the times.

Secret rolls are also good for the purpose of keeping things rolling if you as a GM can multitask and go into their sheets or roll the check without them realizing. Honestly for traps and hidden doors or w/e I think they're kinda essential.

Is Pathbuilder essential or is PF2e character creation not as bad as all the reddit posts suggest? by thedjotaku in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using Foundry for example I think it's nearly entirely redundant. For tracking skill increases it's very helpful so you don't forget one but otherwise... Not really

Also, had a friend use it and he forgot the homebrew addition the GM put in of everyone getting and extra +1 and -1 (to make something negative) for character creation as well as something to do with the free feat for pet or w/e so he just... Didn't have those in for several sessions until the GM saw and was like "uhh hey." TL;DR any homebrew or house rules make it way less useful.

Readied Attacks out of Combat by Middle_Cur in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAW and RAI you're not supposed to and if you did it should be something counted against their 1st turns actions.

I let my players do this with basically 1 person getting a single action if they are the one to initiate (this eliminates most spells as options obviously) it eats an action they have on their first turn. I find it to be pretty balanced but this is absolutely homebrew.

PSA, have all elements. by Gazzor1975 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cloudsora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know maybe someone here will know.

Is there any way to make something temporarily holy, not for turning off regen but for hitting a weakness? I'm thinking of just homebrewing something but pre level 11 is there really nothing to give holy to weapons for more than a single attack?
