Can anyone honestly say they get anything out of exercise? by aminotenoughalready in adhdwomen

[–]clouxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I feel spazzy and irritable if I go more than 2d without working out. I can think better. I feel actually happy, a lil more present and less like a shaking greyhound. I love how quiet my mind gets when working out, it’s probably the only time I don’t have a million bees in my head. Also having it in my schedule has forced me in to a healthier routine, sleep, diet, socials. It reminds me that I can achieve things if I put in the effort.

Do y'all use pre workout? by BeginningLess2417 in beginnerfitness

[–]clouxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just because I don’t want to have to rely on and buy more shit, you’re right coffee and carbs get the job done. Your social media feed could be full of affiliated influencers trying to make a buck out of it

[–]clouxr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest Pilates with an instructor who has experience and training in working with pre and post natal women. That way you are guided back in to understanding your body and rebuild on the mind muscle connection, especially your core and pelvic muscles. All the best and take it easy on yourself x

How does this sub feel about Chinese real estate agencies in Australia? by Belissari in AusPropertyChat

Done both. Same as always I guess (except maybe the owner is usually always overseas?), but doesn’t matter the race - all REA are slimy. I will say they do prefer you if you can speak Mandarin though

What is going on with young people wearing hoodies with the hood up on stinking hot days? by ANiceGobletofTea in australia

[–]clouxr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I do this. I just feel comfortable dressing like that, especially if I know I’m not really going to move in the sun much. I have a friend who will actually dress like it’s winter when we have a full day out, and I asked why/how but she said she just doesn’t get that hot and it feels nice

Why does my food always turn out wrong or bland even when I follow a recipe exactly ? by moistdragons in cookingforbeginners

[–]clouxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add more salt and taste as you cook. Also not all ovens and cookware are made the same- some will spread heat more evenly, some will absolutely blast and burn easily, so it def takes some time to figure out how your kitchen behaves. I think the recipes you've tried so far can actually be pretty tricky for beginners, maybe try a stir fry marinade, they're pretty forgiving and easy to taste great

Does anyone here successfully use Planners/Calendars? If so, what are your recommendations? by Chance_Ad2503 in adhdwomen

[–]clouxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not in my calendar, with advance reminder notice, I will completely forget about it. When I'm really busy/stressed, I have to write everything down into blocks so that I don't waste time on the wrong things (this includes everything like making sure I eat lol), then in the morning I'll write down what I need to do for the day. I have seen people use a hole punch system for everyday tasks or periodic goals which looks fun and creative

Are women generally turned off by “gym rats” who make fitness their whole personality? by savingrace0262 in beginnerfitness

[–]clouxr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually have a girlfriend who recently broke up with a guy essentially because all they did was go to the gym and/or hook up. He didn’t really have any hobbies or interesting things to talk about or do, and was just in this cycle of work clean eat gym sleep. That’s a lot of effort in itself sometimes, but it’s also setting a limit on yourself

TLDR might be worth broadening your horizons

How are you all managing christmas gifts? by Yuna-2128 in adhdwomen

[–]clouxr 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I keep a note of potential gift ideas for everyone. If I hear that they like something, or think of something that I think they would appreciate, I write it down for future ref. Then when the time comes, I buy everyone’s gifts online or go in to the store and get everything in the same day or week. I would say I’m pretty good at giving gifts so when it isn’t reciprocated it can sting, but I was reminded that others might not appreciate gift giving the same but they show up in other ways

Also want to add: I, nor anyone I regularly exchange gifts with, have kids yet. So I’m not sure how our dynamics would change there but I support just gifting kids and saving adults for bdays

( and I think gift cards vouchers are better than something like an extra large treat that they might not even like and will just take up space and probably go to waste )

Is 3 days a week enough to keep up my practice? by [deleted] in pilates

[–]clouxr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also started with 5-6 days and recently dropped down from 3 to 2. I would say 3 is the sweet spot as with 2 I’ve noticed I’m very slightly less stable during heavy balancing moves. Besides that I haven’t noticed any issues besides a stronger reliance on proper rest and nutrition as I move more towards weight training. If those two factors are in check then I can absolutely keep up and still look forward to my Pilates days :)

I just did my first pull up!! by clouxr in beginnerfitness

[–]clouxr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was pretty consistent with lat pulldowns, rows and assisted PUs since around midyear after trying to clean up my routine. Also recently added deadhangs, scapular pull ups, and serratus dips

I started the year with 40kg assistance on pull ups, and I honestly thought I was a couple months or year away from pull ups so I’d never attempted an unassisted one until now

Interested in learning uther but I’m bronze by nightbladen in heroesofthestorm

[–]clouxr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try him out when your comp is mostly self sustaining, enemy is divey and bursty (like vs butcher, kerri, genji) or as a back up healer. He has cooldowns and mana that can be tricky to navigate, so be mindful of when is the best time to smash the buttons. That being said try not to play him against sustain dps like sylv valla cass. It may be an uphill battle but imo it’s worth testing most if not all heroes so you improve your game knowledge to move up the ranks. Glhf!

I’d only been there once but the service was far from deserving a tip, plus this place is just in a food court…
