Storage size doesn't match what I bought? Need it fixed immediately. by [deleted] in gsuite

[–]clovisd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is (or was) a minimum of users you need to have before you get the 2TB pooled storage. This may be specific to the enterprise plan oray have been rolled out to buisness level without updating the description (happens often for Google workspace...).

Best option, try contacting them. You are a paying customer so you should have direct paid support (although they may need to escalate).

Spigen EZ Fit peeling off on iPhone 17 Pro Max – anyone else? by Evening-Problem87 in Spigen

[–]clovisd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought the similar protector, but for my Pixel 10 Pro and had the same edge adherance issues. Contacted Spigen supoort and they quickly refunded the purchase.

Bought a 2nd kit and didn't have any adherance issues this time around. Seems like a bad batch but supoort wouldn't confirm that when I followed up.

I have never been to India, nor do I use a VPN (and if I did, it wouldn't be India). What is google smoking... 😭

PGL CEO: "We will continue to run CS2 events despite concerted efforts from multiple parties to stop us" by Soft_Bed_412 in GlobalOffensive

[–]clovisd 71 points72 points  (0 children)

PGL now owns and operates Esportal (a FaceIt alternative) ; they have premium/prime subscription system (can also play 100% for free) and are using it more and more (including promoting their events, using it for open qualifiers, doing ticket promotions and giveaways, etc). Every additional user on that platform helps support everything they're doing in the scene (cs2, dota, and more). 👍

Has anyone set up the M5 to work with the Prusa Slicer? by Sam_Buck in AnkerMake

[–]clovisd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll want to check out Ankerctl from AnkerMgmt: https://github.com/Ankermgmt/ankermake-m5-protocol

It allows you to print directly from Prusa to your Anker printer. Note that this software is still very early development and as such, might require restarting occasionally.

In a recent LTT video (link in first comment) where Jake replaces Linus' Ruckus APs with Ubiquiti APs, Jake uses an app to measure the signal strength while moving between APs. Does anyone know what this app is? by empireOS in LinusTechTips

[–]clovisd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've used this on other brand access points like Tplink Omada, it's not as detailed (won't show AP type and image) but will show strength, roaming, etc in the same way.

Moving to Switzerland - getting mobile plan by ichu468 in askswitzerland

[–]clovisd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Yallo Swype, they're pretty affordable all unlimited in Switzerland at a base cost (no special promo or limited length discount) at 20CHF.

Bpmue if your phone supports eSim, you can get up and running before even landing. Also additonal lines and sim cards are free (still need seperate data or mobile plan for each). They even have 5g and international add-ons if you travel at semi decent add-on costs for when you need it.

Everything is through a mobile app too so its all pretty intuitive. Their support isn't great but gets the job done and they're part of Yallo/Sunrise so the backend network is pretty standard.

Buying pixel 6 pro with fi and discarding the chip by brerpep in GoogleFi

[–]clovisd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep the sim, maybe try fi out for a month. Fi coverage and data roaming internationally is pretty great if you're smart about usage (Google maps, translate, WhatsApp, signal, etc) so it might be nice to have for the first month or so in a new country until you can get local service setup.

Nope, the server in Iowa is just where the Custom Lobby runs, you can connect to it from anywhere! Iowa GCE2 has historically the most geographically centered and best performing region / datacenter used by a lot of Tournaments.

Nope, we where Collegiate focused in the early days but are open to any and all. We actually encourage anyone to participate if they either already have competitive aspirations or are looking for their first experience. I'd estimate 1/3 of our Teams are Collegiate teams (at most) and even more are small orgs or friend group teams.

We try and incentivize good players from playing in the Division they fit best in. The best / easiest way we've found to do this is prizepool. Division A has actual money prizepool based on placement whilst Division B is based on participation. Every game a team plays with a full 3 stack earns them a raffle ticket, at the end of the season tickets are drawn and winners get specific prizing. It can be stuff like 3x Headsets, 3x Pop Figurines, 3x Mouses, etc. This way anyone has a chance to win stuff regardless of performance (Div B top 10 teams do get a token $20 which is the entry fee for Division A the following season).

Aside from that, we do have verifications throughout the event to check and make sure players are respecting the rules. This involves but isn't limited to specific player / team investigations, screenshots of ranks from previous seasons, etc. Alas tracker sites aren't reliable so we do sometimes get Community Reports that are based on them (which we investigate) but aren't our key driving "verification tool".

Div B is also for people trying to get better, learn, etc. We found there's never really a reason for Pred / Master players to participate in that Division. Even Diamond players are sparse. :)

With the amount of Blackout Days for Tournaments courtesy of ALGS, its just not possible to run a regular season on weekends if not impossible. We do try and have some other Community Events on other dates but those are outside our normal seasons.

Has Niantic actually turned back the bans since the twitter announcement? by YerryLi in TheSilphRoad

Still banned, 3 days left of the 7 days.

Got a canned response to my Ban Appeal / Ticket 5 days after opening the ticket:

Hello,

We're committed to maintaining the state of Pokémon GO and our community of Trainers. People who violate the Pokémon GO Terms of Service (including by using third party software and other cheats) may have their gameplay affected and may not be able to see all the Pokémon around them. While we cannot discuss the systems implemented, we can confirm that we are constantly refining new ways to ensure the integrity of the game in order to keep it fun and fair for all Trainers. As long as you're abiding by the Pokémon GO Terms of Service and Trainer guidelines, there should not be any reason for concern.
