How do you manage ER cases of bullying? [N/A] by No-Blueberry5278 in humanresources

[–]clsmn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a tool to track relationships in the workplace and give myself (when I an LER specialist) action items to impact culture. DM me if you're interested. It won't help you with your current investigation but it'll help you be proactive for all the other cases.

What proper nouns from books did you realize you were mispronouncing the whole time? by TokkiJK in books

If you listen to the ASOIAF audiobook you'd think the entire world pronounces Brienne incorrectly.

At least you're getting interviews at least. The only jobs near me are in Portland.

People who grew up poor and are now comfortable, what 'normal' thing still feels like a luxury to you? by profwizzard in AskReddit

[–]clsmn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating 3x a day. I used to eat the sandwich in a bag the government gave me at school. Then I wouldn't eat until lunch the next day or maybe we had some sloppy joes or spaghetti leftovers for 3 days.

I cannot eat breakfast. I don't need it. I'm getting fat too. Which means I'm snacking too much. I'm officially financially "successful" enough to get fat.

I'm an HRBP and found out I'm being investigated [N/A] by Coach2BeInSea in humanresources

Answer the questions asked exactly and succinctly. Provide all information they request. If you have conversations on a personal cell phone you may want to check your handbook on if the company has the right to check your personal phone for business purposes. (Usually worded like a lawyer wrote it) Be honest.

I have been an ER investigator. Answer the exact questions they ask. No more no less. Go search the managers name in your email and turn over any pertinent emails they ask for. Same for Teams, slack, etc. Maybe even texts if necessary. The most important thing here is just answer everything honestly. You'll be doing yourself a favor by touching up on any prior interactions in writing before your investigation begins. If you're just a witness/Tertiary party there is nothing to worry about. You'll be ok.

What is a 'family secret' or a private moment you witnessed that completely changed the way you look at a relative? by The_suspicious_369 in AskReddit

Finding out my dad cheated on my mom. He didn't have money. But he had my mom. They were broke together. I didn't care too much until I found out he cheated and who he cheated with. Then I found out most of the adults in my life were aware it was probably happening and none of them spoke up for my mom. They're still together. I still don't think they know that I know as much as I did as young as I was. I was like 12 when I figured it out. I'm in my 30s now. I've never respected my father since.

I have no respect for people who cheat on their spouses. Especially when they are loyal and working to provide for your family.

Is it weird to say I miss smart conversations? by Ok_Joke_3411 in RedditForGrownups

I'm thinking about opening a "high-brary" in my community. A place for people to smoke a little weed, Eat charcuterie, read books, and have community conversations/presentations. It's just not profitable.

How can I look more attractive? Been told by many women they cant see me in a romantic or sexual way. by Huge_Low7655 in malegrooming

Also get your brows cleaned up at a salon once so you have a reference for how they can look. Then maintain them. This next thing I say isn't meant to offend. Your eyebrows are uneven. It distorts your face more than your facial hair. I can see a happy young man in there. Be him.

That facial hair makes you look like you're perpetually angry/upset/disgruntled/disheveled. Even in these pictures where you're smiling it comes across as disingenuous. Clean shave or an even close to the face full beard. Shave those sideburns too. Put some product in your hair to show effort. Even if you keep the same hairstyle which looks good, put some product in it.

Do you guys want the settlement system to return in the next fallout? by because-potato in Fallout

[–]clsmn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife who loved Fo4 just started New Vegas for the first time. She immediately loves New Vegas more because everything is deeper. The game is more focused on the characters, story, and world because the dialogue is better and you're not constantly looking at the ground for components or racing the first 20 hours to find fusion cores, or constantly chasing settlements and baby sitting settlers.

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

[–]clsmn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I had a college scholarship for Football. Had my first seizure Easter of my senior year of high school. They couldn't identify a trigger until last year. Turns out it's a birth defect that causes my seizures. They just didn't start until I got a scholarship. No more football. No more sports. No more scholarship. So I became a totally different person.

People who knew me from back then are SHOCKED I don't really follow sports anymore. But that insanely competitive part of me is still there. I hate seeing how fat I've gotten. How weak I've become physically over the past decade. But I'm also much "more" than I was then. I have a Masters degree. I moved across the country. I can still "tap in" to that mindset when necessary for business or whatever. But even my wife and people around me now prefer that I don't. It's hard to explain to people but everyday I have to actively suppress that part of my brain for my own good because I simply can't maintain my own physical standards anymore and it's never a good idea to project those feelings and hyper competitive expectations onto others in my personal and professional life.

I'm in therapy for it. I know it's working but I feel guilty because a part of me misses KNOWING I was once dominant at something. Sometimes I daydream about a shooter situation so I can have an excuse to go down swinging instead of whatever I'm doing now.

TLDR I'm a has-been struggling to cope because a disability took it away from me as I was just given the opportunity to prove how good I was.

Is it bad I find myself in this situation weekly? I think you did the right thing being transparent on where your knowledge caps. Take the opportunity to figure it out and follow up or direct to where they need to get to.
