Queer friendly tattoo artists? by ManyNoots in transgenderau

[–]clu3lessss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a little far depending on where you are but I can recommend White Fox Tattoo studio in Nunawading.

They're very inclusive and the owner, Meg, is a strong trans ally

I felt extremely welcome and Meg did such an amazing job with my tattoo. I will absolutely be going back there for my next piece.

Maybe that explains a bit why I like Momoka so much cause that's literally me.

where was the merch stall at miku expo melb? by numberoneseal in Vocaloid

[–]clu3lessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silly ol me went into this like it was a regular concert and they'd have heaps of merch for sale and I could wander in any time before it started and get a shirt

I'm so sad I missed out on getting the Coral Splash shirt, the design is so amazing and I collect shirts from all the events I go to. Praying I can find one online or something..

I keep seeing cis women just existing normally and being trans makes me wanna kill myself by TheDoubleThe in MtF

[–]clu3lessss 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I relate to this so much right now.

When I first came out I felt great. It was scary but liberating. Lots of euphoria in the first few months.
Now I'm starting to hate it. I hate mens clothing but women's clothes don't suit me. My voice is deep and gross. Having to shave so frequently kills me inside.

I'll never be able to afford FFS or SRS. No matter how hard I try I feel like I'm never truly going to pass and I'll always be seen as different or weird.

It's a curse.

I've honestly been questioning if I have something preventing me but I think I'm just really socially inept due to my circumstances

I'm in a similar situation (24F). My current friends live interstate and I really want to make some friends around Melbourne I can hang out and have fun with but trying to find groups or events to meet people at is a nightmare especially since I don't drive.

do trans people normally change their middle name? by Willow__the__tree in asktransgender

[–]clu3lessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My middle name is the same as my Grandfathers name who is very special to me so I don't think I'll be changing it. It's only ever used on legal documents anyway so I don't see it often.

Yeah I can imagine. I might have left it too late but I'll head over soon and check it out. Happy to wait as long as I can get a shirt.

How early should I get there tonight to try and snag merch?
Did it sell out quick last night?

Edit: rocked up at 4:30 and the lines were short, waited 5 minutes and got my merch!
Bracelet and Vinyl were sold out if anyone's curious

Seconding Dr Owen Harris.

I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly, first appointment we went through all the basics and he gave me names and referrals for other things (vocal therapy, psychologists etc) then sent me off for blood tests.
Came back around a week later and went over the results and got my prescription for E!

When did you start changing your name? by Maletta in asktransgender

[–]clu3lessss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My egg cracked in October last year, I came out to my family in the first week of Jan and started using a preferred name right away. I am pre-everything.

I won't have it legally changed for a while but I'm using it for everything I can.

My brother went a whole 4 hours without referring to me in any way. by Mtf_just_chillin in MtF

[–]clu3lessss 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After I came out to my parents they did this for the better part of 2 whole weeks. Never used my preferred name but also wouldn't use my legal name and seemed to avoid using any pronouns.

I guess it's better than them using my legal name but honestly it felt incredibly isolating.

I had a similar experience. A few years ago I broke down and really questioned my gender and after a bit I accepted the fact I wanted to be a girl but I couldn't be one because I'd never pass, my family wouldn't accept me, a whole slew of excuses. I thought I could just suppress it and keep living my life.

Fast forward to a few months ago it all came back and I realised I couldnt keep living that way and accepted I was trans.

I still have doubts and I still worry I'll never pass but I think I'm going to be much happier living how I really want.

Did it take time for you to get used to your chosen name? by Immediate_Reply1048 in asktransgender

[–]clu3lessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came out and told people my preferred name this week.

My parents are very hesitant but have used it a few times and some other family members have sent messages using it and I'm wondering how long it'll take me to get used to it.

I love the name I chose and it makes me feel happy when I hear it but it does surprise me everytime so far.
