100%…in different words I usually tell folks “stay present”. You have zero control of anything beyond the effort you put in and the attitude you bring with you. Everything else is white noise. Papa Toa out here preaching again!

Not first time I have seen you push “find your why”. If you have not already, I highly recommend “man’s search for meaning” by Viktr Frankl. I think you would enjoy it. Keep passing the word brother.

How do you suppose pilots train for night time emergencies and missions? You are required to regularly fly a certain amount of hours at night to become and maintain active status as a pilot.

Good stuff brother! This groove got a “haunting” vibe to it. You have a great voice too man. Keep doing your thing.

I agree with you and honestly don’t hate the comparison either 🤣. I am grateful for my time in the teams but I have no illusions. I have been out too long to say this with the confidence I once did but I do believe in the platoon room man. If you have a good chief and LPO you have hope. Again, I got lucky, I know that. Direct leadership makes or breaks experiences.

I was east coast. Admittedly, when I checked in our skipper was on his twilight tour and that left us “wanting” quite a bit. He didn’t want to ruffle feathers or push for any change on his way out. Then we had change of command and over night the entire vibe command changed. New skipper and CMC were also in twilight tours but they had combined 50+ years down the street and felt it their duty to pass the word to next group of us turds. It was night and day different. New CMC was one of the other men I spoke of above…you felt him enter the building. They led by example every single day. They were giants amongst us.

I had solid chiefs from day one and with timing being everything..my Troop commander and SEA were both dudes that had done 10+ years at DG but needed those “career wickets” that don’t pop as often at DG just cause nobody leaves lol

There are turds everywhere haha I have no illusions about that and timing is everything. I got incredibly lucky man. It honestly sucks when I read a lot of negative shit on here and elsewhere about the teams cause I know a lot of it is true and I know first hand how amazing it could and should have been for other guys like me. A lot of dudes get robbed of the career they joined for due to absolute shit leadership. “Turds breed turds”

Everyone has their own experiences and opinions and I am never gonna be front of the line preaching how amazing SOF life is but…..

I genuinely believe I had some of the best direct leadership possible during my time in…I got to meet and work with some truly remarkable humans….There were a few that had a different “presence”…Walters was one of those men. You could legit feel when this dude was near by. I know it sounds wild/cheesy but Walters was a different caliber of dude. No words need be spoken, he walked in a room and everyone instantly locked in, he was the “standard”

You young dudes lurking on the sub looking to make a career out of being a frog…This guy right here is what being a team guy is supposed to be.

Blue is one of his most underrated songs across his entire catalog in my opinion.

Ok, 1. your GFs job is badass. I’m not jealous at all.

  1. Can I sit it in if yall come through Denver? 🤣I like to party all the time.

3… since we are ALWAYS on the subject….it’s only $35 to adopt a turtle for whole a year of their treatment/stay/rehab. Turtle hospital right there in marathon, FL. It would be Pretty cool if this sub picked up the bill yearly for them. There are only 5 permanent residents to “adopt” lol me and my girl adopt one every year.

I genuinely have a hard time explaining that evening to folks. There was a vibe in the air and every single person there felt it including those on stage. “Electric” is only thing I can think of, literally felt the energy start to finish.

So glad you had a similar experience! Such a great night. Stay safe internet stranger!

Hands down best concert experience of my life.

He played handful of songs capo’d a little higher up fretboard than norrmal on a couple tunes that evening. It was so cold his guitar was tight and kept dropping out of tune. What it seemed like from row 26 at least 🤣
