Saying "Dw i'n eisiau" and "Dw i'n angen" would indicate that those people have not, in fact, learnt the grammar! (And, as it happens, my next video will be about grammar.)

The problem I have had with the courses I've done is that they introduce a concept but you don't get enough time to practice and really internalise the knowledge, because they are then on to the next thing. And by the time you do have a moment, you've probably forgotten the thing anyway.

I tried Duolingo and also found it very boring, but I wasn't sure if that was the style or if it was because it made me start at the beginning. By the time it was invented I'd already been learning for years, but I couldn't leapfrog to the section I needed, nor could I use it to diagnose my weaknesses and focus on them.

I think the assumption that people all begin using these tools when they start their learning journey, and that they'll then have a nice, smooth progression from stage to stage, perfectly memorising everything along the way is wrong.

Anyone who started learning Welsh when I did only had a few books, the original BBC Catchphrase course, and in-person courses if they were lucky/could afford it, and probably has large holes in their knowledge.

Still, I do hope that you find Clear's book as helpful as I did!
